I had forgotten about that one. Must have been when I was busy Jan-Mar this year. So has a Gold coin been hidden as a free isis then? Do we know which one of the free isis clues relates to the Gold coin?

Would a free gold search show up on the pyramid coins? I don't think the silver ones do. I'd also like to think that we'd be told whether one of the searches is gold. Because I've found an Isis already, I don't really want to take the chance away from somebody else. But if its gold....

 That was me. After so many wrong answers, I needed proof that the password checker actually worked

It was quite nice to see the message saying I'd got it right, although I think some pixel fireworks on the page wouldn't go amiss

 Chad I thought that was so funny. But wouldn't you rather it say
"Congratulations, your answer is correct, but unfortunately this has already been solved, so you will not be charged for this attempt".

Hehe, you mean "Congratulation" :P

Regarding the website or the password checker telling you if a gold coin has gone or not, I seem to recall SonicWarp telling us that wouldn't happen. The pyramid keepers get a lot of interest in their shop if people think there is gold there and go to visit. If the visitors then find that there are only silvers left then they would often take one (which, if you think about it, is money to the shop as it's a voucher). Pyramid keepers would probably get less custom from treasure seekers if everyone knew there wasn't a gold coin in the pyramid.

I appreciate that SW are trying to protect the integrity of the pyramid by hiding the fact that the gold has gone, but to be honest, I no longer think that is necessary.

Puzz once told me that the reason that pyramid holders have pyramids is for the extra custom it would bring to their shop. He also told me that if people knew that the gold had gone, then nobody would go to the pyramid location.

Initially, he had a point. However, now that people realise just how damned hard the riddles are, most people are just waiting until a gold is claimed so that they can then get silver.

I think it would be beneficial to all (SW, pyramid holders, and adventurers) if exact numbers of gold and silver were published for each pyramid - and also to allow silver to be taken before a gold is claimed.

I'm still having a go at the riddles, but as soon as I am in the vicinity of a claimable silver coin, I will claim it - the nearest one to me (that I know of) is about 200 miles away, and I'm not travelling that far for silver. If, however, I was able to claim a silver at the London pyramid, I'd claim it tomorrow.

Puzz also mentioned a while back that he would consider releasing clues to pyramids at the cost of reducing the prize money involved - nothing has come of it yet though. I think a large chunk of people on this forum are more interested in getting a gold coin rather than the monetary prize, and since the password protection was never part of the original plan, I don't see why this can't be done - particularly if the pyramid has been unclaimed for many months.

I can understand it from that point of view also, but I know I would be absolutely gutted if when I checked the password it said "congratulation", and then I pulled out all the stops and raced to the location to be told sorry there is no gold here. I think I would be personally too upset to buy anything from the shop, and probably wouldn't take a silver as that would rule me out of the competition.

At the London pyramid, the staff used to get really pee'd off when I turned up. They didn't care whether I bought anything or not, and just got stressed with the fact that there were 10 people queuing behind me whilst they had to phone SW to confirm my password - which was always wrong  .

It may be different for a smaller shop, but that's my only pyramid experience.

I bet the Doc's wife gets a lot more customers now that everybody knows silver coins are available.

It could have been a problem if someone had arrived for the pyramid in the last two hectic weeks before Christmas, my wife was a bit worried about that at the time.

As to being busier now the gold has gone, I'm sorry to say no. One of the silvers has been taken but nothing else since then, despite our special value

The swansea pyramid people get really sick of me, especially since the location is relatively busy!

Back when I was at Uni, student loans were to supplement your boozing, but I think nowadays students actually need them to survive!

So, do we know who the latest gold coin finder is, and where it came from?
