Anyone else trying to open their first tessarisis? Unfortunately I did not start with the basic version... Working on the extreme and devil, but no luck so far. Looking for others to empathize with over the frustration of trying to open these!

Ha ha, I've thought about it. But no, my enjoyment would then only be temporary. It would quickly turn to sadness at never being able to solve it for myself

I'm still working on it off and on too. I did the same thing though, I have an extreme but have never solved a normal Tessarisis. I feel like I've made some progress but it's slow going. Let me know if you make any progress.

I'm still working on my Tessarisis, on and off. I've moved twice since getting it and just took it out of storage, again, today.

I figured most of it out (including sketches of how I think each part works) before I decoded the clues. I need to decode these again because the answers are not with the Tessarisis when I unpacked it. If I recall, there was one clue which didn't make sense, but the others correlated to the steps I had figured out.

I'm at a point where I believe it should open, but it doesn't. I suspect there is a step near the beginning which I missed. I just need to figure out where. I think it has to do with one of the wheels I can't determine what it does. I have no problem rolling back-n-forth between what I believe should be the solution and resetting.

It's just a matter of time, then I'll get to solve the Tarka inside...

solved the clues pretty fast over a year ago and still keep trying it every now and then if I got time to fiddle with it

Seems like I always keep doing the steps in the wrong order

Takuya, do you have the standard Tess? If so, when you hold the slice wheel and the 's' wheel towards the top and rock the puzzle back and forth between the two, do you hear a clicking that is not the key/tarka? I have the extreme model and am trying to guess the difference between it and the standard.

After spending waaaaay too long on this puzzle I finally got it opened. My issue was a manufacturing? issue. Some grease got into places it shouldn't have so the ability for some parts to move was reduced, needless to say gravity needed a bit of help. I probably would have had this open long before now otherwise.

Congrats, sorry to hear you had an issue with the manufacturing. Which version did you have? I just opened my extreme a couple weeks ago, it was the extra step that I was stuck on so long.
