No password credits on a first time try

Postby whitetiger777 » Sun Sep 15, 2013 7:24 am

So i went to check a password for the first time ever today and all I got was a "sorry! you don't have any password credits" What gives? under the password checker it says I can try every 3.5 days???? I've never tried so why can't I check the password?

The "Collect your reward" menu gives is where you need to go to enter a real guess. The other bit is just the password checker :? (which needs credits). I get it wrong every time because the labelling is wrong (I think) :)
ISIS 1 (2 off) Opened (5% club), coin
ISIS II (Ramisis) Opened (5% club) and dismantled (1% club)
ISIS III (Copernisis) Opened (5%) and now solved correctly (1% club)
ISIS IV (Tessarisis) - Opened (5%). Tarka Opened (1%)
ISIS V (Pentarasus) - Ordered

Yes, that is the password checker which needs credits. You need the "Collect your reward" menu to enter a password for free.

I'm not 100% certain but for a virtual pyramid I would expect if the enter the correct password (in the collect your reward menu) you will instantly win and instantly be locked out of all the entire pyramid games (inc Platinum Pyramid) (unless you buy another puzzle). You will of course get the prize :D

When I correctly entered the password for a virtual pyramid it did as you correctly say lock me out of the adventure for that particular Isis. I had to purchase another one and open it to get back into the pyramid map. The system doesn't automatically remove the pyramid from play though. It was a few weeks after I'd cleared the solution with Andrew and posted it on the forum before the pyramid disappeared.

Incidently if you incorrectly enter a password via 'collect your reward' on a virtual pyramid you are locked out of that particular pyramid for 30 days, so you can only have 12 free guesses on a particular VP per year.

The thing is it won't even let me enter my guess a first time. I've never entered a guess yet and all I get is the no credit statement.

With respect, I think you have misunderstood what kev_in_cornwall said...

The link on the 'view clue' page is the password checker, which is there primarily for real pyramids, so that you can check the password without traveling to the location of the pyramid, but it also exists for virtual pyramids so that you can avoid being locked out for 30 days for a 'real' guess. This costs money, and you need to purchase credits before you can use it, but you can use it every 3.5 days.

The 'real' guess is found under the 'collect your reward' link, and there you will be able to enter your password guess without cost, BUT you will be locked out for 30 days if it is wrong. This is the equivalent to visiting a real pyramid and giving your password guess to the Guardian of the pyramid.

I hope this clarifies the situation.

Wait so it costs money to check to see if I have the right guess? I thought it was free unless you wanted to guess more than the 3.5 day waiting period.

Yep, guessing every 3.5 days is what costs, a 'real' guess every 30 days is what's free...

I still feel that that's a bunch of crap. I mean you pay a monthly fee and then you have to pay for every guess inside that month? I feel that there should at least be 1 free guess a week, heck even the 1 free every 3.5 days would keep people from guessing hundreds of combinations. That's only valid if there was no time constraints or limits on number of guesses. I do agree the Terms and the Text do not clearly indicate that you have to pay for additional guesses. Actually I have yet to find a location that says you get 1 free guess per month on the physical pyramid.

I've pretty much given up on these when I got a list of 20+ possible answers for 1 riddle that all fit the riddle equally as well. After the 1st 5 guesses I decided it really wasn't worth it. Then After spending a majority of my life with Jazz solving the Ramisis riddle game and having the gold coin prize cut from £500 to a £20 iBall. I can't say I'm really into this anymore.

I decided to stop back after being away for nearly six years. I have to say, I'm slightly disappointed. The new puzzles look great, but I'm not looking to spend my disposable income on additional puzzles at this time. My biggest complaint is that I can no longer attempt to solve Pyramid riddles without paying for a yearly membership. When was this implemented? It also seems that if one would like to play any of the games, including the new Diamond Isis riddles, you must buy a book  . I understand it is a business, but it is disappointing to see customers being nickeled and dimed every step of the adventure. If there is a way to play the Pyramid riddle game without having to pay, please let me know!
