LA Searches

Postby Ailurophelia » Sun Jul 04, 2010 6:51 pm

Recently becoming a member, I discovered the Free Isis Search and wanted to try them. There are two in the LA area: the July/Beverly Hills and one at a pier. Neither one of them is stated as found, but I wanted to confirm that they are still around. Don't want to go looking for something that isn't there!
I know BPShirase went to the Beverly Hills one in Feb to confirm it was still around and came up empty. Could some unknowing person have found it and taken it? Does anyone have any higher knowledge? :?

Oh, and Happy Fourth!

Has anyone verified that this coin still exists? I've been on the hunt for both the BH coin and by the Pier. I feel I'm close, but haven't found anything yet. Just want to be sure it's not a wild goose chase with no end!

So far, I've tried but no luck! And no one has been able to comment as to whether they're still around. Who knows...we might have a chance.

Well, just good to know there's at least one more active LA adventurer. It looks like you're in the same boat, Isis open, Copernisis open, and Ramisis still a mystery. Feel free to PM me if you ever want to discuss thoughts on possible clues, breakthroughs, etc. :)

Sadly others have ventured to the BH site too (BPShirase) and I think some annoying passerby may have gipped it. :x
And I'd love to bounce around ideas, Ger-Dog. My dear old Ramisis chooses to remain completely locked.

Hello all,

I thought i'd make a post and hopefully see if anyone has some input or help they can offer (even if they're not in the area, they might have some ideas).

I've been to the location a couple of times now with no luck on finding the hidden coin, the riddle of "look for this coin over 12" baffles me. I extensively searched various cracks in both wooden staircases seeing if it was hidden in there because the ~12th step is the middle platform roughly, which was leading nowhere.

There's a clock on the lifeguard building, although it's in a location that regular civilians are not supposed to walk up to which makes me think that there's no way it's hidden there... I ended up going back after hours and going up there anyways and I did not see anything nor the possibility of hiding something near the clock.

I also looked at where the actual picture was taken instead, which you can see here...

It was roughly taken standing near the volleyball pole with a '1' on it. This made me assume that it was possible hidden in the pole numbered '12' for the 12th volleyball court. Each court has two poles with it's number on it, but once you get to the 12th court, for some reason there's a pole 8 in place, and then a 12, like one of the poles were replaced sometime.

Image

The pole with a '12' on it is also extremely tall and even stepping on the steps nailed to the side, I could not reach the top of it (I'm 6'5), nor did I see any cracks near the 12 that could hide a coin (the very top of the pole was damaged but I don't think a coin could be hidden in it). I started checking the other courts and further down I eventually found another pole with 12 on it, this pole I was able to climb and touch the top but there was nothing there (nor any cracks).

Here's some different angles of the pier and beach if anyone has some ideas...

I examined under the pier checking the pillars, walls and roof. I never saw any engravings, carvings or placards with 12 on it. On the bike path there's some engravings showing what street you're on and the pier is right next to 12th street. I went over toward that and never saw anything that stood out and I also felt that I was way off at this point... over toward the streets a coin could be hidden anywhere so I went back to the section of the pier that is in the clue picture.

I also walked along the pier multiple times and went inside of the free aquarium at the end.. leading to nothing unfortunately. There's not much actually on the pier, a couple of benches (which it didn't look like anything could be hidden on them, I didn't crawl on my hands and knees and look at the bottom of each one because it doesn't match up with "over 12" and people would have that I was a crazy person lol)

Any help would be appreciated... seeing the update post from puzz on the forums, he mentioned the BH search but not the pier, making me wonder if it has already been found but the site was not updated?
