So are the SEs and LEs actually different?

Postby stet » Tue Nov 30, 2010 1:58 am

As I posted in the Extreme Version tread before I ordered my LE to go along with my SE I asked Andrew if they had a different solution. He responded “yes the limited edition version will have a different solution and will be unique from all other Copernisis produced thereafter.” So now that they are finally shipping has it been determined if this is still true or not? If it isn't then I'm going to want to cancel my LE order as I really don't need 2 of the same puzzle even if they are different colors.

The LE and SE were originally going to have different solutions, but due the delays and pressure to ship this never happened. That said only 150 Black limited editions have been made and so they are valuable in their own right.

Anyone who owns both the SE and LE will be provided with a different solution. As yet we have not sent both types to anyone, so if you are interested in this offer, please email me directly before we send the additional versions out.

The new extreme does have a different solution, its a different colour and has a different equation, and is much tougher to solve.

Hmmm, this makes me wonder what the current Ramisis redesign is about...

Unfortunately this didn't appear to have happened for me :(

I got my LE first and had not solved it when I my SE arrived. My SE kind of solved itself about 15 minutes after I started working with it. At first I was pretty sure that my LE did in fact have a different solution than my SE because when I first moved the planets on the LE to what I thought were the same positions as on my SE it didn't open the key chamber. But I guess I may have been slightly off on 1 or more of them (my LE is very loose and it is hard to feel the positions for a few of the planets, my SE is very tight). I later went back and tried it again and confirmed that they both have the same solution.

Now I'm not sure if they both have the same equation. I assume that they do but I have yet to actually get to it on either of them.

At least I did verify that my Extreme does have a different solution :)

Considering the same information is used for all, and the same equation appears on LE and SE, does that mean they all have the same solution?
I suppose there isn't a better way to make them all different (or at least vary) like the Isis 1.
