Given the fact that the type of key has recently changed from a high security one to one more akin to that found in a cheap padlock from Woolworths (or whoever sells that kind of thing these days!) I rather suspect that our record of puzzle-opening on the IA database will be more important than the physical keys themselves!

But there again I may be wrong, I often have been with this game!

I am afraid this is the most likely option. However much I would like to be proven wrong in this case!
I don't see how a puzzle can be impossible to start without having 4 different keys, especially while key #1 has two variations, and key #2 and #3 look terribly much like both variations of key #1.
We will most likely know in many years from now...

But back on topic:
What a pity that the final puzzle is due in 2016 (article) while the competition ends May 2015 (website)...

Hey has anyone esle noticed that the photo of the Copernisis in this article has either two planet pins missing or two black dots on the inner rings!!

I have also notice this on the video of the Copernisis...

Anyone know what is going on here?

Wow you're right puzz did say that the planets falling off has been an issue for a while but to let it make it into wired magizine,OOPS.

All Limited Edition Copernisis that I saw (on the web) have these 'marks' . . .
Maybe the planets had to be repositioned to match the equation?
Or maybe these are just black dots on a prototype?
