ISIS stuck

Postby Jakkeke » Mon Nov 01, 2010 10:32 pm

Hello,

today after i don't know how much time I took my ISIS in my hands and gave it another shot.
I think I'm on the good track, everything was falling in place according to the tips.
So I started opening and got to the point that the 2 symbols were about half a centimeter from each other and now it doesn't do anything anymore. It doesn't make a sound or anything.

Am I still on the good track (is this normal) or do I have a problem (or the ISIS)?

Thanks for the information...

It looks like I used the tip in the other diection (looking at the two symbols) and now I can' get it to move again...
It even doesn't move for a millimeter anymore like it used to.
It seems to be one solid ball (the blue rings still move) now and before you could notice it were two halves (moving just a little bit when you tried turning them)

Hope I can get it to do something again or make some kind of sound when shaking, because now it seems dead...

No fatal problem there, this happens more often, and it can be recovered.
You do need to re-align the 2 symbols, even if this requires strong force.
Putting the puzzle in the freezer over night may help (seriously, it is metal you know)
Using washing up gloves may help to improve your grip (and prevent your hands from freezing next morning).

Good luck, and once you are done then start over solving the puzzle!

THANKS!

This morning I tried to realign the symbols by turning with a little more force.....

I OPENED IT!

Can someone give me a short explanation what can be done next...
I didn't touch my ISIS for almost 2 years, so I can't remember what can be done afterwards...

Do I order my ramesis now?

Hmmm, it appears you have been lucky, but congratulations anyway!
Does your Isis have a key inside or an engraved number only?

You can now register your internal number (engraved inside or on the key) on the website.
Sign in on http://www.isisadventure.co.uk, click on your Isis number, and click on "enter the key".
These days it is no use to ask for a real key (if it was not inside the Isis already).

Also get yourself access to the 5% club on this forum, by folowing the instructions also stated on the forum frontpage:

Once you have opened your puzzle you can join the appropriate 5% Club, where you can discuss the details of the workings of the puzzle with others who have solved theirs. PM the group 'Gatekeeper' to apply for access (look out for the 'Gatekeeper' group on the right of the screen when PMing).

You must send a picture of the open puzzle together with a piece of paper with your forum name on it. Please do not email pics, send them in PM (use IMG tags). No Picture = No Entry. Once you have been given access, please remove your pictures from the internet to avoid them being picked up by search engines.

Once you have access to the 5% forum all your questions can and will be answered in there.
