The enigma continues :D

The Birmingham pyramid has disappeared from the map but then so has virtual pyramid 50.

Virtual pyramid 51 is still on the map but I solved that one and my name isn't on the winners list.

and I'm pretty certain that the winners count was somewhere around 125 last week but now its showing 136.

Thanks for all you eagle-eyed people out there spotting this!

I have just heard from Puzz, who has asked me to convey the following

PUZZ wrote:What should be done next ???

Tonight I picked up the phone to a Mr. Mc. who informed me he had just purchased a 2nd hand Isis from a shop In Birmingham, great I thought, ah but then he informs me that the shop ZEN in Birmingham, whom I have never heard of by the way, also sold him one of my isis adventure pyramids for £250(TBC with shop) ! That can’t be I said they are not for sale. He then states he has no KEY, but then informs me he has a gold and 10 x silver coins in his hand and he has registered the gold coin. How did he do that then with NO key? I think he might now have a Damaged Pyramid !

Anyway, as we all know to qualify for any gold coin award you need the password for the pyramid and no damage to any of the isis adventure objects, that includes the pyramids !
So what do you all think he should do now?

I have asked the shop to call me and explain how they got the pyramid and that they should at least refund Mr. Mc. his money for the pyramid as its worthless if the process in not adhered to.

I am now thinking of turning all REAL pyramids into Virtual pyramids, again what do you all think should be done ?

To add my own comment to this, you may recall that the clue for this pyramid changed in July 2008 (see the thread for pyramid 17 elsewhere), and I indentified the Zen shop as the location and was the first (apparently) visitor to it back in July 2008. So the plot indeed thickens to hear that Puzz doesn't know about the shop!

The concept of actually finding a pyramid, solving the password and opening it with a key has always
been something that I personally think distinguishes the ISIS adventure.

The problem with involving third parties to administer the pyramids is that as time goes on, some
appear to lose interest (and the pyramids :D) or forget about them. The Cornwall pyramid was for
some time locked away in a cupboard because nobody remembered what to do with it.

Although I don't like to admit it, it would be simpler and more reliable to convert the remaining
pyramids to virtual ones. Just a pity that they are only worth £250.

As to this particular story I wouldn't like to comment without knowing the full facts. I thought the
pyramid was somewhere else (as apparently did Andrew :D).

I would totally agree with that. A dimension of the adventure would be lost if the real pyramids were to go, but if they are to stay then they need to be carefully monitored, which I can appreciate requires time and money, but money well spent in my view.

Wow, pyramid news at last!
Strange indeed that Puzz does not know the shop that he previously thrusted to hold a pyramid... :?

I can confirm the rules are forgotten sometimes ...
I remember visiting a golden pyramid one day, and after I opened the pyramid, the 'keeper' thought I had won the pyramid itself and was willing to hand it over to me...
This was obviously a mistake, as the gold coin was already gone and the pyramid was still there. I explained the rules to him, and he admitted he did not really know what to do with that strange pyramid that his boss had put on display one day.
This specific pyramid is still here, and the shop is still selling puzzles, so one mistake is NO REASON to withdraw real pyramids :!: :o
On the contrary, as I have promoted more often, IMHO placing MORE real pyramids would greatly help to keep alive and increase the atention and enthousiasm of adventurers that may now stop returning to the website (and stop buying new puzzles like the Copernisis).

Rules are forgotten 'the other way around' also: I know a pyramid keeper that keeps the pyramid locked away and denies knowlege of any pyramid before you show the key AND give him a password. And another keeper that (previously) kept demanding a passwod when the gold had gone...

Pyramid keepers and puzzle designers (and isis adventurers) are people, and people make mistakes...
It would be a huge setback if the real pyramids were removed from the adventure over this apparent mistake.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

How did Mr McDonald manage to get his name on the winners list ? I assume that Andrew wouldn't have manually added it due to the circumstances, so I can only assume it is done automatically when entering the gold coin number, but you would have to be a paid up member of the Isis Adventure with an opened Isis to access that screen.

Ridiculous .. We call this cheating!
Simple: disqualify Mr. Mc. Donald but thank him for being so honest:) and slap the keeper!

I agree with Loulsis .. the real pyramids is precisely the charm of the game ..
