There seems to be a bit of debate as to whether or not it was nine days,
But good luck Batkaz, I hope you find it.

Had a nice morning at this home but didn't find the coin, pently of (twines remove every elf) to search, I needed to be a bit slimmer (ok a lot) for some.
200 paces through the main gate put me just right for finding the coin and looked the ideal hiding place - i hope someone hasn't found or moved the coin before i got there.
Haggis will get there next week i believe :D
Anybody who has not got a isis or is a newbie PM me and i will give a clue to the place.

your Batkaz

PS If you go here take the kids and a picnic, the deer come right up close :) :)

Has anyone been back to have a look at this one? I had a look on Google Earth and assumed the reference point to be the 'door' of the 'home'. If you assume that the 200 paces are in a straight line, your options are limited. Virtually impossible to walk that far in a straight line inside the home (and its not always open) and outside you are blocked by bracken and the river in most directions. Taking a pace to be about 30 inches there is a suitable hiding place in line of sight about 160 yards from the door. Just some thoughts if anyone is thinking of having a look. Much as I enjoy going to this place I don't think I will have time in the foreseeable future. A good day out though, even if you don't find the coin.

Went back there on Saturday with a few friends
Searched all over, 200 paces from the home 200 paces from the gate etc.
We had tea in the tea room, paddled in the stream, walked and watched the deer. what a lovely place to take the family.
The house is opened at 2pm
If this is the correct place I hope that somebody is regularly checking that the coin is still hidden. any small child could find the coin and not know what it is?

In all my experience of the free Isis search, and I have a good bit!

There has only ever been one that has gone missing in the uk(Isle of Wight). You are either not looking in the right place or you are not looking close enough. Puzz does hide these well and it will be hidden from view/buried/covered up/stuffed in a crack with moss over it.

I think it may be time to look again at the clue, may be we all found the location to quickly.

Yes I agree, it's extremely unlikely to have been moved by accident.

I was a bit suspicious of the 'twines remove every elf' bit. If that means the obvious thing
its the third time they've used that trick and in both the other cases the words had a
reasonable alternative meaning. In this case though its a bit blatant and looks a bit like
an anagram although I can't make anything useful out of it.

I'm sure you're looking in the right place, its a bizarre coincidence with the numbers if you aren't.
Keep trying - you'll find it. :D

I think this is the right place and Puzz is laughing at us when we get there :D
The 'twines remove every elf" clue is easy but when you go to the home there is so many off them you need to know the correct direction and the correct starting point. I just kept searching and searching and searching.
I think we need to find one, that was her favourite ??? or something linked to the 200 paces.
Any newbies been there yet.

I gave in to temptation today and visited the home. I see the problem, all my ideas that looked good in two dimensions on Google Earth weren't practical in the real world. Taking the front door as the point of reference doesn't give too many of the right hiding places around 200 paces away and most of them are fenced off. (presumably to keep the deer out). And if the front door isn't the reference point, what is?, the side gate ?, the entrances to the estate ?

I'm inclined to agree that this 200 paces may not be as straightforward as a distance, it's a conveniently round number and quite a long way.

God knows what its like at weekends there were masses of people, quite a lot of reindeer and a couple of peacocks there this afternoon. If you think its inside the ruins or garden, be warned they are only unlocked for access Wed, Thur, Sat and Sun between 2 and 5 pm and Sunday morning beteen 10 and 12:30. The park is open every day though. If it is inside the ruins I hope its not under that poisonous plant :D
