Postby colin@tina » Sun Nov 09, 2008 8:50 pm

Hello all
While you are doing your shopping on line you could be helping our son’s school trip next summer to Tanzania see the website http://www.campsinternational.com/

If you follow this link http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk and then look for under 'search for a cause' under K (Kennet Tanzania Expedition). They donate a small about to the fund

There are 30 children going from the school going for 4 weeks to help out on Wildlife Projects and Community Projects

This is costing round £3500 pre child and they are raising money any way they can

If anyone would like to donate to the fund please get in touch

Many thanks for taking time in reading this

[b]In August 2009 a group of 32 students and teachers from the Kennet School will be visiting Tanzania for a month long expedition to help build a school and other projects. They need your help to raise the £3,500 needed for each student.
This Chinese auction is a combination of both a raffle and an auction and is your opportunity not only to contribute to the Expedition but also your chance to win some outstanding prizes.
The difference between a raffle and a Chinese auction is that, in a raffle with multiple prizes, there is one "hat" from which names are drawn, but in a Chinese auction each prize has its own "hat". This allows you to choose which prize you want to focus on, as opposed to having a first, second, third, etc. prize.
In a Chinese auction, you buy tickets, which are chances to win items. You may buy as many tickets as you like, and bid them on any items you want by placing them in the container in front of the items you are trying to win. At the conclusion of bidding, the winning ticket is drawn from the tickets bid on each item, and the item is given to the owner of that ticket.
You will increase the chance of winning by buying and bidding more tickets on a specific item. Although there is generally no limit to the number of tickets a given individual may bid on a specific item, the chance of winning depends on the total number of tickets bid by all individuals.
Each Ticket costs £1 which is very low compared to the ultimate value of the auction items, so the lucky winners will get a great deal.
For those attending the barn dance on the 14th of March 2009 you will be able to buy books of tickets on the night and bid at the event.
For those of you who would like to participate in the great opportunity this auction presents but will not be at the dance this is what you need to do……….
Complete the form on the back of this sheet to indicate how many tickets you would like against each prize. Add up the total number of £1 tickets you would like. To be included in this auction you will need to return the form with a cheque (payable to Kennet School Fund – Tanzania) to cover the total number of £1 tickets you require to the Kennet School Office on or before Thursday 12th of March.
Incorrectly completed applications will not be entered into the auction & the cheque will be returned.
The organising committee will then put the number of tickets you have selected against each item into the containers for the selected items. You will increase your chance of winning by buying and bidding more tickets on a specific item.
Good Luck
