Buying a puzzle on Ebay

Postby Dawn » Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:34 pm

Hi

Does anyone know if it's permitted to purchase Isis puzzles from people on Ebay that have bought them and not being able to open them?

I just wondered if there were any issues with changing the registration, and whether this was actually permitted or if you had to buy them from new?

Thanks

Dawn

Hi Dawn, welcome to the forum,

The down side of buying second hand is that it is impossible to tell if the puzzle has been tampered with.

If the Isis has been opened, and some internal parts ping off into the edgeworld between Mr. EBay’s floorboards without him noticing.
It is possible that he could reassemble it, unaware that there is something missing, rendering the Isis useless.
I would advise you to go for a new one; it is like a second hand car, if you buy one... you just know that you are going to have other people’s headaches at some point.

Thanks for the replies.

It's a good point that they might have opened it already.

I guess I'll have to put my hand in my pocket or see if someone will get me one for Xmas... who knows maybe I'll get lucky and solve the free search (though I seriously doubt it).

I wouldnt count yourself out so quickly as I did myself, thinking I was never going to be able to solve a free search, yet here I am cracked 2 free searches and a pyramid as well. Just takes the right thinking and luck as well

Sonicwarp does have an official ebay shop, always a good bargain to be had there with the guarantee that they are 100% brand new direct from Sonicwarp.
