Isis III, IV & V pre-order

Puzz wrote:Folks,

I recently offered the opportunity for Z3r0San1ty to buy the remaining isis series in advance of production, which he has accepted. I have now created an Isis series priority order list (ISPOL) for anyone wishing to take up this offer. This offer is open to all at £500 for the remaining 3 puzzles in the series. Any gold coins claimed can of course be exchanged for this offer. Anyone on this list will be guaranteed priority on release of future Isis series puzzles. Puzz

Is this a limited time offer, or will it remain open indefinitely? (Until I get my gold coin perhaps! :D )

I think it would be a more attractive offer if we could pay say 42 or 43 quid a month for 12 months.

There you go, layaway, I like it. Course, you could always just get a new credit card with 0% interest and no annual fee for 12 months and buy the puzzles then pay your card that 42 or 43 quid a month. :)

With all due respect to PUZZ and SW, I pre-ordered and paid for my Ramisis well over 3 months ago.
At the time I (and I suspect others too) was under the impression I was joining a proirity list too. This, however, was proved not to be the case when it went on general release in hamleys before mine had got anywhere near a postbox... suffice to say I was less that happy :(
Two months after I was supposed to receive it and Im still stilling here waiting :?
Also keeping in mind just how long its taken for the Ramisis to be released Im really really sorry to say I'm struggling to see what the benefit is in forking out £500 (that's £167 per puzzle) in advance is.

Can you define "guaranteed priority on release guaranteed priority on release"?
I take it this means we'd get it earlier/before the general public? If so how much earlier? a few months? a month? a week? a few hours? or will I be left in a stuation where Im sitting waiting for the postman to bring it when I could have gone to the general launch 3 days earlier? :?

Don't get me wrong, I love the puzzles, I'd still like to be one of the first to get my hands on the future ones, and usually I'd happy to get my name on that list ... but at the moment I just can't bring myself to do it :(

I still need convincing... maybe when (or if) my Ramisi5 comes it'll blow my socks off and it'll inspire me to see sense and take up the offer

Bear in mind it's probable that the puzzles will be more expensive than that if you buy them separately.

Does that include VAT? Because the USers won't pay that but we will pay more for shipping.

Agree. My experience of the Ramisis so far, compared to the Isis I, is vastly increasing my resistance to mind tricks of all kinds ;)

I need re-converting...

I'm sorry... I'm going to say my peace as well.

Sure, if things were all flowers and sunshine I would say you should go to market with a "pre-order and save money" campaign.

If things looked bright for SW, it would be a fine place to put that much money over the next several years. I would gladly pre-pay to insure that I received the next three puzzles.

But on the heels of a VERY (and not a SINGLE ONE OF YOU can say it wasn't) flawed launch to a very expensive product, there is someone out there with ISISs of steel expecting the masses to flock to an offer like that. (I do not even attempt or want to know how difficult it is to design, manufacture, produce, package and ship these puzzles and frankly, that is no excuse. It's not our job. That is your job. So belly aching that it is hard to do gets no sympathy in my book... sorry)

Over a year ago, SW asked for investors... how is this any different? Is that £500 going to just sit there for the next 2 years while we wait for ISIS III? Or is it to keep the lights on at SW? (I can't find the post or I would quote from it... think it rolled off the forum months ago in a clean up effort)

Again - I'm sorry - I know this isn't a way to make and keep friends but I just feel like now is not the time to be asking for favors (which in my opinion is what this is) when you have so many unhappy people out there. Now I know that people are getting happy (because, let's face it, you hate your postman until the box arrives and then you kiss his feet), but you need to be more concerned about getting the product out to those people whose money you have before you move on to the next idea.

Andrew (can I still can you Andrew now?), I like you, I like your company and I like your products... but my stomach just aches as I sit back and watch what is happening.

For those of you that have sat by and waited (whether you complained about it or not), good for you. I feel for you... I really do. I held my order until Oct 17th as I assumed there would be issues and a back log and figured with the US economy in the crapper, my money was better spent here for now then putting an item on long term layaway.

Now I'm just rambling, so I will stop for now.

I am waiting for my Ramisis as well..... not nearly as long as the rest of you, but anytime you put that much money in a company's hands, you normally want to feel like your product is making some attempt to get to you. (And yes, I understand the concept of limited edition and pre-orders, etc).

Again - sorry for the rant - but I just had to put my feelings out there.

Oh and I will say my key word that I seemed to use too much in this post again.
SORRY :(

Guys... those of you that have been around for a while know me. You know I am "mostly harmless", but I will also speak my mind. This is how I feel about the subject, YMMV.

I am all for Puzz and his company... I really am. I just think we need to see satisfied customers here FIRST before moving to the next big thing. Take the lumps, admit the issues, fix it, stroke the general population and show how the lesson has been learned and it won't happen again... and then say "look what we have in store for you".

It's just a one step at a time type of communication and release schedule. Work to get the product ready, give honest and complete information to the best of your ability, if there is an issue, be open and realistic on a fix and timeline and then work 24x7 to make sure that this doesn't slip. I COMPLETELY understand that things slip, crap happens and even the best laid plans go to hell in a handbasket.... but.... your biggest supportors are right here. Everyday we log in, we read, we post, we help others.... and we send money like the little puzzle lemmings we are. Let us help. Whether that this through suggestions, postive or even negative feedback... use the temprature of your main consumer pool to gauge how things are going. If you have people posting everyday that "their key still isn't here" or starting threads that say "are you asking for your money back?" or "has it posted yet?".... adapt. We are telling you where the focus needs to be (again... sometimes with curse words in the response and other times with a gentle nudge).

Puzz - I understand that you have a limited staff and they work day and night to get stuff done and move this product forward. I don't want anyone to think that you don't have puzzle passion. But it's okay to put out the little fires before trying to tackle the big ones. I think misslemike's issue with his key is a good sign of something that could be fixed in just a few minutes... but instead, he posts each day reminding your loyal puzzlers (in addition to your brand new customers) that SW is not listening when they are being spoken to.

corrnettracing80, I didn't get to see your unedited post... but I'm sure you put as much passion into standing up for the ISIS, for Puzz and for SW as you put into all your posts about not having your Ramisis yet. And good for you! The forum needs passion and support. And believe it or not, that is why I am taking the time to write such long posts. I would love for this to be the time that SW takes a DEEP BREATH, regroups, makes a priority list and works it. (not that this isn't what they have done... but outside appearance speaks volumes in a consumer driven market).

Companys pay thousands of dollars/pounds getting market testing for products with their potential consumers. Let's face it, we are the market test... and we are giving feedback... loud and clear. You have people telling you that the pre-order process might be flawed... that the first batch of puzzles have issues... that shipping might be an issue. And that once those things get cleared up... the puzzle and the game rocks! I'm sure you are using this to make things bigger and better and to help ISIS III launch run smoother. If so, you are as bright as I think you are! Bravo!

Puzz - I put my hand out to you, my friend. If there is ANYTHING that I can do to help out from the USofA, I am truly here for you. I want to see you succeed, as I want those puzzles and I want them to rock my socks off.... but if things keep going this way, I wonder how long it might be before too many people jump ship or stop pre-ordering and that slows or halts production due to lack of interest.

I do say this with all the love for puzzles in the world... I truly do.

Signed Sincerely,

bit1313

The idea of paying up the £500 over say the next year is an excellent one, instalments is always much easier than a lump sum.
Usually when buying something in instalments one would have to pay more than the original asking price. (Interest)
But one would usually get their product before they had paid for it, not in this case.
At the moment the Ramisis is £149, that is £50 more expensive that when the Isis was released.
When you see the amount of work that has gone into designing and manufacturing the Ramisis, you will soon see where the other £50 has gone.
At that rate the Isis III should retail at about £200 up to the Isis V at £300.
£167 per puzzle is probably a bargin, but instalments would be easier.
SW products opened: Isis 1,1A,1B,1C,Tut & Eagle Isis, Isis Umbrella, NKryptor, Ramisis, Kuku Hard & Copernisis

I PM'd PUZZ about shipping for US. He replied thusly:
PUZZ wrote:Hi,

$810.00 will cover the 3 puzzles inc. post if you go onto the priority list this week. The price will fluctuate.

payment to paypal@sonicwarp.com and an email to me is required to get on the list.

Im not sure how long im going to leave the list open for, but im considering top 100 only.

Puzz

Guys, that's an incredible deal, almost no shipping cost for us at all! I say go for it if you can! I for one can't, which is why I'm going to find that Texas pyramid and use part of my gold coin value! :D (Still no luck, btw, at least not that I know of!)
