Puzz does hide them quite well... i remember when i matched up the photo for the free search i found... didn't know where to start looking but went for the stones in the picture, almost gave up with them as couldn't find it anywhere until i only just noticed that part of one of the stones could be moved and taken out, so did and there it was!!! really do have to check every single crack and check that stuff can't be moved... what must go through Puzz's mind and what he does when he's planting a free search!

Well Im off to the do some walking/climbing in Scotland in the next couple of weeks so I thought Id do a little more in-depth investigation on this one.
Its a private island and the only 'regular' ferry is to to take holidaymakers who are staying on the island to their accommodation and then bring them back a week later - even this costs £50. Ive found details of somebody who would take me across to the island for £30 per person but is likely to need a minimum of 4 people!!

Does anybody out there know any different?? (he asks hopefully... )

Ive been informed by PM that this one has been FOUND !

I dont know any details yet and the finder says that they still have to contact SW to confirm the find.
I'm glad they let me know before I travelled all that way, I just hope nobody else has made the journey in vein.

do we have to round up all the free isis1 searches before there are any isis2 searches..this is all new to me ,i wasnt present for the launch(isis1)...i am very happy i can get in on the very beginning of isis2

I don't think there will be any Isis 2 searches.
Hopefully they'll continue with some form of search - perhaps coins that will give you discounts at SW.

It's me, I have the coin. I alluded to this in my previous message. There was some hidden text, copy and paste the message into notepad to see it.

Anyway, I'll start off with a summary of how I found the location:

Firstly, entering "the dark and bright phases of an object in NZ folklore" into Google gives this site as the first result:

The site details the legends of Rona. Promising. I then used Google to search for "Rona Island" and this produced two possibilities: North Rona and the Island of Rona. Using Mulitmap, North Rona is here: http://www.multimap.com/s/gyb9lrNM, which didn't look very promising, you'd find it difficult to find anywhere more remote (zoom out to see what I mean). The Island of Rona is here: http://www.multimap.com/s/g2fxsxoo, and zooming in a bit: http://www.multimap.com/s/jxa5vzni - Meall Acairseid, a hill with a trigpoint. Well, that must have been the place. But it was quite a way to go:


Now, this next bit will either make you accuse me of not playing in the spirit of the search or bang your head on the table thinking why didn't I do that.

After reading through the Island of Rona's website (http://www.isleofrona.com/), I decided to e-mail the island's only resident, Mr Bill Cowie, to tell him there's a coin hidden in the trig point. He responded a few days later, surprisingly, to say he'd go and have a look. A couple of days after that, I get an e-mail saying he's found it and what should he do with it. So I e-mailed him SW's phone number and a link to their web site so he can claim the Isis. He responds saying he's too busy with guests and would I like to have the coin. So he posted it to me. That was a fortnight ago and it arrived yesterday, it would have been earlier but stormy weather prevented the boat taking the post from getting to the island and it's a weekly service. Mr Cowie told me of the delay and that some visitors may have been there to look for the coin. So I posted those odd messages on this forum to let people know it had been found, but I didn't actually have the coin at time so I didn't want to say I had it incase anything untoward happened.
