September 2008 - 1

If you look closely at the sign in the picture, there is enough information on there to tell you which route it is.

Do blue arrows mean bridleway or is the colour just specific to that route?

When the image was first posted it was very large and quite easy to work out which
path it was. They have unfortunately compressed the image now so you can no longer
see the text which makes it more difficult but the logo is still discernible and fairly
unique. Difficult to get a map of the exact route without the above mentioned donation
but I have been following its possible route from worded descriptions and not seen
anything that convincingly fits the clue.

I have a theory on this one.
I think the picture is a clue rather than a location.

For those that missed the original image (which was much larger), here it is:

Ive got a theory on this one but its still a bit far south for me to justify travelling.

Hope this helps.

Not the pictured path, I know, but it does connect...

Hmmm, when I spoke to the charity whose palm should be greased, I was told that the requested information was out of print due to lack of funding..... :?:

:(
This is going to be tough for people who don't live nearby then.
They're the people who made the route, and seem to be the only people who have any information as to where it is. I can't find it on any up to date OS maps, and have thoroughly searched t'internet too.

They mentioned a fee plus a donation - surely the fee would cover the printing costs, and the donation is a bonus for them.

And as far as I can work out, there is more than one location where one crosses the other. And those two locations are a fair distance apart.

Perhaps whoever set the clue (I'm assuming they have a copy of what we're after) could email a copy to anybody who asks for it.

Still, if enough people grease their palms, maybe they'll reprint them.

I can just see the confusion in their office as they receive request after request

They explained that they have to print them by batch, and so have to build up the funds to do so.
I've contacted councils that act as distribution points for said info, and they are all out too.
If we are on the right track with this line of enquiry, I think we are going to have considerable troubling pinning down the location.
However..... I've just started a new line of thought which has led somewhere quite interesting....
It would mean the pic is simply a clue to something related, but assuming that, things are making sense... I think :|

Yep, I have a location that should be checked out. Thing is, I'm too far away to check it out going only on a hunch. :(

Finally I'm in, been waiting for my activation since this one went up.

I'm still trying to decide if the picture is the location, or if it's a clue to the answer to the written clue.

What is the general concensus from all you guys with experience of these hunts?
