I think the slackness that you mention depends on the individual lock. For example, my first Isis never had much of a wiggle, despite rather heavy abuse, whereas my Eagle Isis had quite a bit of give straight out of the box. The 1C seemed to develop slackness over time, but I don't think that's in any way significant.

Regarding your plunger, Darwin: I would just put a little oil on it :)

Darwin,
I think that you will find that once you reach the halfway stage you will know, there will be no ambiguity about it.
It seems that some Isis plungers have a mind of their own, some stick some don't and some stick sometimes, the amount of abuse that you sound like you are applying might be a little excessive but very unlikely to cause any damage, since I assume that you will not be abusing it to the point that physical damage is visible on the exterior.

Thanks for the info re slackness. I'll stop worrying about that issue and hope that eventually the slackness will develop. :) Not that I'm at a point where it matters, but I'd hate to find that it's jammed shut at the critical point.

Rest assured Hannah that my plunger is well oiled!! :D

It was generally very "crunchy" when I first got it, so I was instantly out with the oil which greatly improved the ease of movement. However, this is a more definite stop that it does not want to move beyond but not, I think, anything to do with the halfway indicator. Especially seeing as this was the starting condition!

Also I am not hearing a 3BB or the familiar resetting noise happening by accident. I'm imagining some kind of 1A mod.

Maybe I haven't even got out of the starting gate yet!!

Thanks that's exactly what I needed to hear. It didn't feel like the halfway stage.

I'm certainly not that excessive! :) Though at times I'm sure we have all wanted to be.

I'm using the rusty method! Considering the upgrade(s)!

I must have been reasonably lucky with my first Isis because everything appeared to work as intended. And now it is a dream to open despite it being a little loose when locked.

Thanks for the reassurance. I shall try and calm my paranoia. I feel if I don't make some progress before the 18th it may be some time before the 1C gets a look in again. :)

I got a certificat with my 1C, it says 2 of 12. I was told at the time that I bought mine that the only other person who had one at the time was a dude from overseas :)
There's a picture of the certificate (alongs with the 1A certificate) here :D
I got stickers too :D :D

That's interesting, because PUZZ originally said that there were only 10 available:

PUZZ wrote:Ive just released a very special limited isis called 1C, only two people have these so far, and we have 7 more in stock, and as far as im aware its not been solved yet !

+
PUZZ wrote:I forgot there is one other isis 1C out there, but it needs modification to bring it up to spec with latest 1c's

... where the second post referred to yours, I think.

What is also interesting is that 10 were already accounted for when I rang Sonicwarp and managed to get "the last one"... making it 11.

So does this mean that there were originally 12 and one is still out there? Or 10 and I got some random extra one from somewhere? When I rang Sonicwarp to get mine they said it was most definitely the last. Or 10 and I got some random extra one from somewhere?
