disclaimer: bad mouthing the moderators is not a very good idea..you never know who you are actually talking to,and may afford yourself opportunity to let your mouth write checks your butt cant cash...

On a number of other forums I frequent (and moderate) we found that a thread like the Game generally keep the forum chatting and moving, and also let people vent their spammy verbal diarrhoea without cluttering up other threads.

Most forums I have seen have threads similar to this... others include "What are you listening to?", "What's bothering you today?" and "Assassinate the person above you" threads.... all just a bit of mindless fun for those of us with nothing better to do to amuse ourselves with! Hey, didn't you read my title? I "Needs a social life"

Some forums create a "games" section to keep these threads from bothering the sensible people, but mnyeh. Unless you have a very slow internet connection, clicking on the General Chat forum to see if the new post is a worthwhile one or just the game will take about one second.

Agreed! but as a mod or admin though we have to police EVERY single post and the game makes that process quite annoying. Nothing more, nothing less, just annoying.

Not sure whether I should be proud, or sad, that I have created one of the most disliked threads on the forum :lol:

Although on the forum where I took this idea from, it currently has over 32,800 replies, so it can prove popular on some forums, maybe just not this one

Well if you moved the Game thread to it's own sub-forum, called Games perhaps, as Happyhannah suggests, then that Games sub-forum could have its own moderator(s), relieving responsibility from the main forum moderators somewhat, then perhaps everyone would be happy!
