From the pyramid list of last check times:

Pyramid 3 - 01/08/2008 05:54:03
Pyramid 6 - 01/08/2008 05:56:23
Pyramid 17 - 01/08/2008 06:07:16
Pyramid 31 - 01/08/2008 05:55:13
Pyramid 33 - 01/08/2008 05:52:40

Hey! Leave some for the rest of us!

Ooh that list includes all the ones I've been looking at .. but it wasn't me !!

Whoever it was is either quite new or hasn't been keeping their eyes open, else they would know that one of those (at least) doesn't need a password!

Ah yes. Hmmm - that's a bit mean. I know the whole "is it still gold?" mystery is part of the game, but taking money for unnecessary password checks is a bit off.

Maybe your check should tell you this. Maybe it does already! It would then have served its purpose - spending £3/£3.50 to save the journey. Or tell you that you can get silver there anyway.

I,ve noticed that just after using the password checker it does not seem to increment the number of challengers, or display the correct time of my challenge. I have logged out and logged in again about an hour later but still it doesn't appear to show my challenge. Has anyone else noticed this ? Makes me wonder if the table is updated by a batch process rather than in real time. Does 'challengers' mean the number of unique people challenging or the total number of challenges ?

I was thinking the same thing - I reckon a daily batch process updates the last date+time - I made a guess early this morning (around 01:00) and it hasn't shown up yet. And I think the figures mean total number of challenges rather than number of users.

The number of challengers is not the number of people who have made a password guess, it is the number of people that selected a particular pyramid and then logged out.

For example,
When you log in, you have no. 9 already selected and there are 22 challengers for pyramid number 9. You then decide to look at pyramid no. 23 which has 18 challengers.
The challenger count on no.9 will drop to 21 and the challenger count on no. 23 will go up to 19, it works instantly. It will remain this way until you select another riddle.

As for the time of guesses, I have not figured out how that works, you can use the password checker and see no immediate difference.

If it were, the number of challengers would never go down, they would only go up.

Yeh, Scotty and steve are right, it's the total number of challengers not challenges... which means theres an awful lot of people working on the pyramids
However, I don't think the number ever reduces if/when someone claims a coin and is therefore no long a challenger :?
The value does go down on a pyramid if someone selects a different pyramid though

And, of course, people with more than one Isis will have had to make different accounts for them. So Steve and Karen could probably make up 10 challengers between them! :P

The total number of challengers should be a close representation of the number of opened Isis, unfortunately we won't be able to know how many Ramisis have been opened if they use the same pyramid riddles..

It would be nice if a series of giant Isiseses popped up in shops all over the country :) If we opened balls then found pyramids for I, then II should be opening pyramids to find balls :)
