Well didn't get there. I came out of the hotel literally just in time to see Typhoon floating on by, so I went home, as it would have been ages before she came back.

Plenty of storms but no Typhoon!

Postby g0isw » Sun Jul 06, 2008 5:45 pm

I was in London last week and apart from the scorching weather on Tuesday (82 degrees) I did manage to get away from work on Thursday 3rd July and found the Cyclone and Hurricane, but not the Typhoon before time ran out that evening!

Plenty of fun once again.

Better luck to the next searcher!

You keep saying that. Now please go get it and put us out of our misery by publishing the (w)hole story!
Or alternatively, start leaking more clues...

Well, me and my family took a little trip down to London yesterday to do a bit of the tourist thing and to visit the Tut exhibition before it closes... so while we were there we thought we'd have a stab at trying to find this free search :D :D

We waited at the pier at the dome for just over an hour, clutching onto a print out of the schematic of the boat marked with the places we wanted to check... we must have looked sooo suspicious!
Anywho... the typhoon finally appeard coming down the thames from central london. Having watched the boats for a while we (though we) knew that from here it would continue down the thames, turn around at the end, and come back to the pier to pick us up and continue to Waterloo (where we needed to go) :D

So after a further 20 minutes wait we saw the typhoon come around the bend (woohoo!).... and dock on the other side of the river (what the hell?!?!?).... after speaking to the chap on the pier (who had had his eye on ever since we let the third boat leave without us  ) apparently it had finished for the day!!!! AAAggghhhhhh!!!

There were still a few more attractions that we wanted to do in London but just didn't get the time (probably because we spent soooo long boat watching  ), so we hopefully plan on going back sometime within the next week to try our luck again  Better luck next time I guess!!!

This clipper should go into the record books for the most missed boat of all time.
I too tried to get on it at the weekend, I did see it but it was going downstream as I stood on Tower Bridge, I was looking to go upstream from Tower pier and didn't have a few hours to spare.
