News about forthcoming pyramids and coins

No, you don't get given the choice. Infact there is very little communication in the whole process, once I had the coin(s) I rang SW and was told to send in my ISIS' with the coins and keys and a short note.
I asked for the prize for the silver coin to be given in cash/cheque if possible, but only because I've been on the forum long enough to remember the conversation about it and PUZZ (or maybe Ade) saying that it could be given as cash if reqquested :)

Why send in your Isis, coins, keys ect. Can't remember Hannah saying she had to.
If you have a key = p.word = phone call from venue = confirmation = the fact you have been around for a while. Why all the checks. Am I missing something here.

You've always had to send in ISIS, key and coin for a gold coin. It's in the T&Cs.
I don't believe you normally have to send stuff in for a silver coin but when I rang up to confirm what the wanted me to do it wasn't wasn't Erica who answered the phone, it was a guy who wasn't entirely sure and he said to send the whole lot in for both ISIS just incase....whatever
It didn't cost a whole lot more to send the second one, so I did.

Thinking about it now though I've just realised that I've heard absolutely nothing for 2 weeks now :? might give them a call a little later! lol

[edit]
Having looked at the T&Cs it appears that it no longer specifically states that the ISIS and key need to be sent back... I'm sure not so long ago it did though. All I can see now is the point below that only implies that the ISIS needs to be returned in oreder to be checked for tampering. But it does not sate it is only for a gold coins :? :
2. The promoter can refuse to redeem any awards at its discretion if it appears the products are defected, tampered with, copied, forged, drilled, hammered, cut, damaged or reconstructed or does not comply with the rules. The promoter's decision is final.

And then this point which merely says a full explanation of the password solution and return of the gold coin are necessary to claim the prize:
4. Gold coin prizes will only be awarded to claimants that have solved the Isis game successfully within the terms and conditions set out by Sonicwarp Limited. Ie. Correctly deciphering clues, and passwords and following all other terms and conditions set out by Sonicwarp Limited. A full acceptable explanation of the solution for a password will be required to qualify for a reward. No part payment will be paid on any award. Players will need to return the gold coin to claim the prize. All coins must be registered on the Isis Adventure website within 30 days of collection from a pyramid. Coins that are not registered within 30 days will no longer be eligable for a prize.

After the first part of your reply, I had a look. I found the bits you mentioned in your edit. Karens sticky update for Dec.07 has no mention off sending in your Isis. I can understand sending key, coin ect. but surely the cost of posting your isis to claim £20 seems a bit stupid to me.
Also the fact of probably several visits to venue, cost of petrol and the cost of p.word checks, cost of posting your isis makes the £500 somewhat smaller.
It also says that the money will be transferred to your bank account and then you can post your adventure.
Perhaps Hannah can tell us how hers worked and what she had to do.

I think you may have been given a bit of duff advice when you phoned, specially for the £20. I would get an email off or make another call now

It cost £9 to send both ISIS and all the keys and stuff using special delivery with £1000 insurance so tbh it's not all that bad. That said, the £500 still won't cover the cost of the ISIS! I really need to get working on another pyramid!!
I didn't see the bit about the transfer rather than cheque... odd!

Ade was on the forum a few minutes ago, I was hoping he would throw some light on this.
I must admit I thought the cost would have been more than that, remains to be seen if they deduct the return post from your winnings

I would still make that call

I spoke to Ade a while ago about it, he said it was normal to have to send off the ISIS for the gold coin, but not for the silver.

I've sent SW an email... just have to wait to see what they say :)

Hey, SW might 'upgrade' your Isis (not to be elaborated outside the 5%) when you send it in. That would be a nice bonus for a gold coin winner!

BTW: this post by puzz (in 5% forum) clearly mentions the need to return the Isis to claim a gold prize:
http://www.isisadventure.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1617&start=18

I think the task of 'analysis to make sure the Isis is undamaged' can be performed by the pyramid keeper if you bring the Isis with you on opening the pyramid.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

so if you fiddle with the internal workings of your isis would that prevent you from claiming the prize and the end of the whole isis adventure? would it also stop you from getting the money from a gold coin

iyaree, I think there's a little too much information in your post, you might want to edit a word or two :?

But to answer your question, I think the main issue is that they're wanting to check that you didn't use a hacksaw to open your ISIS etc.
I don't think it'll be considered a huge problem if someone felt the need to fiddle with the ISIS' internal workings
Ultimately its to prevent cheaters from winning the prizes :)
