Ha, wil have a look at the new one then... the old one was still up when I bumped the thread (on Wednesday).
So, will we hear if it was won or ditched???

Oh well my guess on the new picture was wrong :(

I think this is very frustrating not knowing what the previous picture was, and not even knowing whether it was solved or not. Scope for a little more use of the 'news' page I think - an average of one news story a month is not exactly riveting!

I do agree with the news pages, Surely there are things going on to feedback to the Isis public about?

On the Mystery pic front, I have the nod to suggest posting our guesses, if you so desire, what say the rest of you? I am happy to start the ball rolling...

Here are my incorrect guesses so far...
Toaster
Bun Toaster
Curling Tongs
Hair Dryer
Straightening Irons
Solar Panels
Extractor / Extraction Fan
Heating Element...

But remembering way back to what the first Mystery pic was, it was a one word answer (I think they even said they were looking for an 11 letter one word answer??), so I dont know if it might be a brand name or a techinical term...

Q. to SW... are you gonna tell us what the last one was? Or at least let us know if you are waiting on some reason before telling us...? I know it'll be one of those things that no-one has ever heard of or all of us have and dont notice! Ade, Karen, can you help?

Aw, sh@t, where do I start.

Did I miss the big announcement??
The current pic is already guessed... The white bars behind a metal grid looking thing... air con unit.

So dont rack your brains on that one any more.

The previous blue one was (quote from Erica...) "an abstract design depicting a bird touching a pond causing ripples and then flying off"
Have I lost the plot????????????????????????
So anyone get that??
Jeez.

I feel like I am on a time lag... or so very stupid.

Karen, Ade, where are you?
Poor Erica has been a saint.
:D

just three letters... W.T.F.

Sorry, I wasn't told anything about the mystery pictures so I have no idea what is going on there.

I am still plodding along, but I may not be around as much as usual for a while.... my baby is due in 1 week from today, so I haven't been on the PC quite as much as usual. I'm at work until Friday (assuming nothing happens before then  ), then I'm off for my maternity leave :D Although knowing me I won't be able to leave the forum alone for long

What? How are we supposed to know that? If it's already been guessed why is it still up there? Are people still paying for the clue which will be of no use ???? :?

No Erin, you haven't lost the plot but whoever set the answer to the mystery picture must have! How exactly did the PayPal clue elude to that answer! I think we all need to know what the thinking behind this one was before submitting any further entires for the new one. Were strong, hallucinogenic drugs involved? Blimey................

Yeah, I can just about get on board with the whole abstract design thing, but how the clue relates, I have no idea.

Wait wait wait. Does the clue refer to "skimming"?

JHC!

That's an almighty leap from the pic+clue to the answer! Now I know why no one's owned up to winning this one - 'cos no-one did!

Yes, there's cryptic - but then there's just plain silly.

So, the new one has been guessed eh Erin?

That's a shame 'cos I was going to enter:

"A robot dentist grinning at 90 degrees while thinking of treating human patients" with the clue of "Luke's friends hit a raw nerve"

Must win, surely?

love it scottybot, perhaps we should be running our own little comp, winner gets the total respect of the rest of us... most bizarre theory wins!

So, yep, just to confirm, as of the time of posting the current pic is ended, guessed, by whom I don't know.

Did mention about the poor sods still paying for the clue, will see what happens there, also was assured the pic wouldbe taken down. I know very little about web-page/site management, but could that not be done easily and quickly???
