Good News or Bad news

Postby kitkit » Mon Jun 09, 2008 3:12 pm

Just thought could do with a thread here where people can post news about themselves, rather than it being brought up in other topics and risk upsetting people/taking the thread off topic.

Good News: Have gone and booked my motorbike training and test, and will hopefully have a full bike license on the 11th July, providing i pass first time!

Bad News: I'm now

GN: I am sure that I won't be the only one keeping my fingers crossed for you with regards your bike training/test and the job at Tesco :P .
BN: I did have a bike licence many moons ago but the man with the big white wig hid it from me, permanently  .

GN: Got myself a new job recently in a shoe shop for the summer till i get a 'proper' job now that ive (almost, ive got resits) finished uni.

BN: And for me this is bad, im having to sell my bike to pay back what i owe to my girlfriend and generally be able to afford to live for the next few months and go on holiday! Luckily for me i have a second bike, but that needs putting on the road as yet....

I had my licence taken away by a man in a white wig once, luckily for only 6 months.

BN: I had a massage done today, and couldn't believe how many knots i'd got... really going to be paying for this later and tomorrow...
GN: ...it should hopefully stop the stabbing pain i get every now and then in the middle of my back for a little while
BN: have realised i have only about

I did say it was a long time ago, in the days that bash hats where not a legal requirement and learners where limited to 250cc bikes.
I lost my license for trying to wheelie My Triumph Bonneville the full length of Princess Street in Edinburgh.
The sheriff thought that it was irresponsible, probably due to the fact that his daughter was the pillion.

Oh, Steve, I salute you!
That's v funny, well, sort of, apart from the fact you have no licence... oops.

Okay here's me:

GN: the sun is out, my freckles may follow soon, it smells of fresh cut grass in the office and I love the sun...
BN: my skin doesn't like the sun too much and my internal thermostat seems to go into reverse, hence major sweats and overheating... yuk.

Oh, hang on, I want to end this one on a good note.... ummm...

GN: there might be some more interesting buildings to look at in the local area for the April1/2 isis hunt, so walking boots here I come... possibly on my own though, pah!

Shame I haven't mastered the art of knitting and walking at the same time...

Oh, another GN/BN:
GN: I finished my long awaited scarf... six balls of wool and a heck of a lot of time later!
BN: its summer, not exactly scarf weather...

@kitkit: I had a full body massage last week on my week off, then promptly walked around town window shopping for the rest of the afternoon, hence blisters on feet and more aches than I started with! poo.
Fingers crossed on the job thing tho!

I asked for basically a tough/hard massage... it was VERY painful when she'd find a knott and try and work it out, but just bite my lip and carried on trying to relax my muscles, which can be hard when she made them spasm slightly! lol but have definately found some new bruises or sore spots since!

BN: found out today my dad has or had gone into hospital to have his cartilidge removed from his knee... but i only found out after my mum rang me today! :(
GN/BN: still waiting to hear from Tesco. I got impatient when i realised there was no letter in the post so rang them and the manager there said the guy who interviewed me, hadn't made a decision yet and would be coming in to work this afternoon to do it... so still waiting on hopefully a phone call and not a letter, so can go back to Redditch to see my dad this weekend.
BN: Am in desperate need of money now... i've given up with trying to find a flat, everywhere's too expensive now, unless i live in some really really dodgy areas like Moss Side, Longsight etc. But to go back into to student digs, i'm going to have to find about £1000  it kept me awake last night, and then 9am this morning got woken up by bloody work men drilling in another part of the block of flats.

@Steve: lol! Reminds me of Will! Every little hump in the road, he always pulls a wheelie, got use to noticing when he changes down a gear before coming up to a hump in the road! It did catch me out every now and then, and the once with him, but that's when he gets a nice kidney jab! but bummer still that you lost your license for good though :(

V.GN: WOOHOO!!!! Just got a phone call saying that i've got a job at the Tesco!!!! it's only 11.5 hours a week, two shifts on thursday and friday evening, but still i've finally got a job so will have some money coming in, and it doesn't look like it'll mess with uni too much either! :D
Just hoping they have some overtime at such a small store, or i may have a look at getting a temporary job elsewhere for the rest of the week over the summer. *dances around* :D
Thank you Erin-rae, my dad should be alright though, he's had it done before, i think he blamed it on when he was in the army.

Now off to find me a gold coin!!

BN: EF4 Tornado went thru the town I live in!!!! official damage estimates still pending

GN: The Tornado did a "Tony Hawk" over the only really hill in the area!!! and literately jumped over my house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Weather sucks, and Kansas is the classic place for suckie weather why would anyone stop here and think this is a good place to stay?

MGN: my wife and unborn baby are safe.
MBN: I wasn't there... sounds silly but it would have been better if i was there i know that i couldn't have protected them from an EF4 Tornado but I could have kept the mentally safe.
