We had a look for this one back in February but were stumped by the last line. I was working on the theory that there was a unique letter 'W' or something beginning with 'W' at the site. I then thought that a North East bearing from this object would point at the hiding place. We 'strolled' rather than rolled the entire five mile perimeter but never found 'W'. After seeing the latest clue we had a better idea of what W might be so we had another look yesterday and found a unique 'W'. Its a bit weathered but clearly there, and fits with the latest clue. A NE bearing pointed into a small thicket. I searched it as best I could but its very overgrown with brambles. Needless to say I didn't find the coin. On thinking it over, the thicket was right next to 'W' so the compass bearing idea was probably a bit unnecessary i.e. "W is me" would be all that was necessary. Nice day out though (apart from thousands of midges the size of bluebottles). I felt close, I could smell the monkey metal.

Apologies for this delayed post, I was supposed to have done it yesterday.

The globe trotting SW elves have been out checking and the coin is still there. They report that it is hidden very well and will not be found accidentally. So whether you are strolling or rolling along the bank make sure you stop long enough to search properly. Knowing where to stop is the key, but you can definately count on it being there.

I just need to get the little bleeders to venture into London to check the December coin. They don't like all the noise and unlike their Cornish cousins they hate the water too.

Those midges were awful. At one point I was running, waving my arms around, but they just flew faster - I must have looked like an idiot.

I found the W that I think you're referring to as well, but only checked the cracks around it - nothing

For anyone who knows where it is, I would recommend going along for a family day out. The place is really nice.

That explains what the little fella with the green jacket and the pointed hat was doing. Thanks for the additional hint, it looks like my 'W' wasn't the right one. Back to the drawing board.

Ok, so I don't know where the lake is so I can't check this theory out to see how outlandish it is. (I also reside in the US, so I can't get the coin anyways). But for anyone that does know where the lake is, did any of you happen to take a GPS with you, and if so, do the numbers 23 and 145 show up in the coordinates in anyway?
