thats great that its dropped, although i agree with the majority of the people here in wondering why there is any charge at all. The puzzle was enough to pay and there was never any mention of passwords when i bought mine. Agreed it does make it fairer for people who dont live as close to the pyramids, but still a free guess every 3.5 days will stop brute forcing. Its just putting alot of people off.
I was really looking forward to the future puzzles and the "quests" that came with them. But if theres going to be a separate charge every step of the way im starting to think i might not bother buying anymore puzzles.

Initially the only way that you could check your password was to travel to the actual pyramid. Because of this, many people began asking SW for a way to check the password without the traveling. As they always do, SW listened, and they came up with the online password checker

I'm sure this service took a while for SW to implement, and it needs to be maintained and updated, so it's not suprising that SW charge for this service, and as Bluesign2k said,

...The password checker was put in place to help us, we are not forced to use it, it's just there if we want to. If we want to guess for free, we can still take part in the adventure, and visit the real pyramid

hmmm i tend to disagree slightly. I know we arent forced to use it, but if you ask me, SW saw an opportunity to increase cash flow with little effort so hence they implemented the password checker. You cant blame them, it is a business after all.

Once a system like that has been implemented, there are very little maintenance costs apart from adding a password from time to time. Once the initial cost of the system had been paid for, the charge should have been removed in my opinion....!

Haha UK people. Imagine us in the USA...

Up until the "new york" pyramid the closest one to me was about 2000 miles away! Even the new york pyramid is a good 600 miles one way.

I thought everything in the UK was in walking distance...I mean how big is the UK??? 10 square miles? HAHA

a 1200 mile round trip to a pyramid would be a sin here!

but with them getting the benifit of cheep fuel, it would be much cheeper....

based on the price of fuel and how many mpg i got on my last visit to the usa, a 1200 mile round trip, inc. tolls would cost maybe 100 USD or near enough 50 quid....

here at home, a 1200 mile round trip would cost approx 250 quid.... near enough 500 USD....

sadly we have country lanes instead of interstates so its probably about the size of africa in comparison lol...
