I think this is another IOW situation... we're in the right place, but the coin could have been taken/moved.

I think they're waiting to send someone to the clipper to check, then we'll hear whether or not it's still there.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. SW went very quiet when the IOW one disappeared. If this is the same situation, I think Lodgecrest should get this Isis as he's been a couple of times, and searched the clipper thoroughly.

I went to the piers again today. In particular I searched Bankside pier, as it's the fourth pier along from the 'Kemble' end, and it's on the right hand side of the river. It's hard to look for anything in London without looking like a terrorist, but I've done my best here! It's definitely not at the bank pier.

After a tiresome wait spent piering[sic] into dustbins and behind signs, the Typhoon finally arrived and I 'embarked'. It was my third search of the boat itself, I was very thorough, and I hope Lodgecrest will agree that it is almost certainly not on board.

I was unfortunate enough to be one of the ones who travelled all the way to the IOW, on more than one occasion, only to return home empty handed, and I have to say that being on the piers and the catamaran didn't feel the same. On the IOW search there was a (justified!) feeling that I was so close; with this it feels like a wrong turn.

I'm living in London so I'll keep scouring the boat/piers till kingdom come if needs be, but I think an extra line to the clue would hot the search up.

boat tripping

I don't think extra clues are required!

The coin will be checked at some point next week. Until then all I can suggest is that maybe you need to search a little harder.

Hello out of hospital and in a sling for 4 weeks so no driving. How very exciting this has become. I must admit I could not get my head round the clipper theory as could not tie in the eurofighter bit.???? but it seems you clever people are on the right track. Makes my trip to Kemble look a bit stupid ! I think one of the first posts was, Kemble was a bit to obvious, how true was that. My excuse is it was my first go at one of these so obviously a bit thick, how embarassing.

Good luck on the search all of you the clippers look soooo smart

Dont appologise, there are loads of us out there who struggle to get their heads around the thinking of SW. Sometimes you just drop onto the right train of thought and other times you wonder if you're completely daft. So you're not alone. :)

Im sure there are dozens who dont post for fear of looking silly. Just keep at it and eventually one will come your way.

Cheers

Thanks Haggis for your kind words of wisdom.

I am lying on my bed with a scotch and dry in an attempt to re-arrange my brain cells

Not a hope in hell

But I will keep trying

To the Typhoon!

I've got some spare time tomorrow so I think I'll venture to the ol' river Isis again to search the clipper. Any last minute tips or ideas on where or what to look for. I'm guessing the 'right?' bit is talking about either:

    1. The direction; the opposite of left.
    2. Something in conformity with fact.
    3. Something in its proper condition or order.
    4. A clever mixture of all of the above.

Hope I come back sucessful, but all your thoughts are welcome.

Figarola, I find your icon hypnotically disturbing.
Good luck with the search. I'd look in places on the boat other than the seats - they seem to be quite well searched by others. I think SW are sensible enough not to hide it in any safety equipment. I don't think it's on any pier as the clue mentions embarking but not getting off again.

Thanks Skizz,

You're the second person in as many hours to comment on my icon! I think you're right about it being on the boat. The piers are very bare with little or no suitable hiding places, and nothing to fit the clue.

Hope I return with good news tomorrow.

P.S. If it's really disturbing people I will change my avatar.
