When you couldn't get the key chamber back in the reason was that the top section was over-rotated past unlocked to re-locked. Because of this the key chamber will not go back in because there is an obstruction in the way.
Do you have a V1 RAMISIS, or a G2 Ramisis?
If you have a v2 you should be able to rotate the top section to a specific orientation to move the obstruction out of the way and insert the key chamber again. You can reset the puzzle by going back through the maze, which is challenging but not any worse than the original solving. Or you can also disassemble the puzzle once the obstruction is moved out of the way to manually move the internal object and reset the puzzle.
If you have a v1 you will need to move the internal object back to the beginning of the puzzle by going backwards through the labyrinth, and this is much more challenging than the initial solve, but is doable especially if you look online for internal photos of the puzzle.
