Mystery Picture

Postby ScottyBot » Sat Dec 15, 2007 12:43 pm

Anyone got any idea what this might be? The previous pictures were a "what is it?" competition. Now this one says "what does it represent?". So, are we looking to find out what the object actually is or should we interpret the picture for the answer? I've just sent a guess so I'll let you know the outcome.

I think it's probably a small part of a large sculpture/modernart type thing. If you see the whole thing, then it'll probably be fairly obvious what it represents.

Chad

PS I have no idea what it is, and probably won't look as my NKryptor count is now up to three

it looks like a computer render to me as opposed to an actual picture.

I thought the inside of Isis 3 was not supposed to be discussed outside the 0,05% forum . . .
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I just sent in my answer, I believe it to represent Kepler's Second Law of Planetary Motion. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler%27s_laws_of_planetary_motion#Second_law

The ellipses represent the five known planets in Johannes' Kepler time, and the two lines represent the amount of area "swept out" in a finite length of time.

Seemed appropriate, but who knows?

well for one thing, there were 6 known planets during his time. mercury venus mars earth jupiter saturn. I just got my bubble busted too though. I was sure it represented the lost city of atlantis. Which consisted of two inner rings and three outer rings. Plus a source of hot water and a source of cold water. It soooo fits....I have no idea now!

Yeah, I was thinking that there were five OTHER planets known at the time, I didn't count Earth, but I guess if one was making a diagram of the solar system, it'd be silly to leave it out. Blarggg what is it?!

Does Anyone know if this is an actual picture or a rendering?

Does it actually exist somewhere or is it a rendering on someone's computer. AKA Puzz's Computer.

Puzz!?! Any help????? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

Does this image represents SOME THING specific to a particular region or can it be found globally???

Puzz, any help?????

Has anybody been taking guesses at this? I cant think of a single thing that this could be.

Is it an obscure thing (Oh I dunno... like part of a router or something) or a pictionary/charades/dingbats type thing?

Would someone from the SW posse care to give us some momentum in the right direction?
