A little help with what ISIS to buy

Postby Kalozois » Tue Nov 06, 2007 1:02 pm

Dear Puzzlers

As a new member of this forum and a person who will be buying an ISIS today if possible, which should i go for? I hear there are 2 types, one of which is 1A? Before i waste my money on the wrong one, which is the better buy in regards to getting a ball which may lead me to a prize.

Also would somone give a little run down of the process, as far as i know its this:

Open Isis > Send off for a 'key' > Get a key, enter it into website > Get a riddle? > Solve riddle to find pyramid? > when i find pyramid i get another riddle to solve to get password?

Thanks for any help you can give guys, looking forward to getting into this, i was well into PerplexCity, still trying to crack that thirteenth labour and find 1 in a billion, but thats sidelined.

Is there anything else i should know or do to make this more fun and involved? I am going to goto the TUT exhibition also: Do you guys usually group up to find the passwords/locations on the LIVE meets, or is it heavily singles based? I would share with people if we grouped up.. Let me know thoughts.

Thanks a lot

Hi and Welcome!

The Isis 1A was a limited edition with only 12 (well 13 technically) being made. These were produced as an additional challenge for those that had already cracked the Isis I. There is still one Isis 1A available to buy. It is on display at one of the pyramid locations and could be yours for

cheers ade

you were the guy who answered my email too, very helpful cheers.

So then when i open the isis, i can search for ANY pyramid? Thats pretty cool.

So i take it finding this 1A is almost like finding the treasure itself? Is it different in its workings?

Thanks again, i really like this adventure as it seems there are less than on Perplex and more chance to do well.

Hi Kalozois,

Welcome to the Isis! Did you see my post on the GJ forum, then?
If so, apologies in advance for the sore thumbs and sleepless nights

hello chadh

Not sure about GJ, but your name does look familiar.. did you post on a forum asking for help with Perplex city cards? If i remember correctly i think i saw your name on one about whistles but i cannot remember for sure.

What is GJ?

Sent off for standard isis today from the sonic website, thought its best to get it from the source.

One thing im a little upset with though is that i was looking at Unfiction this morning about the ISIS and its hard to avoid some of those posts which give too much away, i feel ive already spoilt the whole thing for myself without meaning to. :?

Has anyone got a picture of the 1A isis? Is it any different besides the colours?

Cheers guys,

JK

Hi Kalozois,

I missed out on Perplex city - I only found out about it a couple of months ago. GJ was the Golden Jigsaw. They had a subforum on the Perplexorum forums (not sure why) and I posted there a few days ago mentioning the Isis adventure. With you mentioning Perplex, I thought you might have seen my post.

Bit late now, but I got mine from Firebox, and had it the very next day. Hopefully SW will be just as quick.

I stumbled across the Unfiction forum as well and wish I hadn't, but to be honest it didn't ruin the enjoyment of the puzzle - I don't know how much info they're giving away now, though.

The 1A has a modification to the mechanism as far as I'm aware, but I don't know what it is. I'd like to get that one from one of the pyramid locations, but have no idea where it is!

Good luck with it - hope you receive it soon.

Ahh i heard about golden jigsaw, its a shame about that. Good idea, just difficult with people sharing information etc. But from what i read of past posts the pieces were really difficult to find, especially the one on loquax?

Anyway yes i really hope that it will come soon, the lady i spoke with said she would sent it out tomorrow.

In answer to whats on Unfiction, too much, as in a full list of instructions of how to open it, though i have seen the first step i forced myself away from the rest, even so the first step would have taken me ages to figure out, so i feel i cheated myself.

Anywho, have i caught this one really late? On the isis main page it says theres like 10 locations left, with lots of gold and silver, but ive read elsewhere that theres only like 2 gold left?

Cheers

If you're talking about the step that is defined by 'The dominant theory of the creation of the universe', then don't worry about reading it there. It was a clue that was released separately which you probably wouldn't have found out about otherwise. To the best of my knowledge, that clue was released on this forum, but then removed during a forum cleanup - when I started my 'adventure', the clue had already gone.

New pyramids are released (generally) every month, so don't worry about missing out. There's about 18 pyramids now, and 10 gold coins. You can check the number by visiting www.isisadventure.co.uk.

yes thats the exact clue i was talking about, i assumed it was difficult to find out as its an expensive bit of gear, why would you otherwise! (hope thats still vague enough to not give anything away).

Im glad about one each month, gives me an equal op to be on par with you guys!

Thanks for being so helpful! Nice board here, only a little slow with new posts and stuff :( is the 5% club very active?

It's not a very active board - since the US joined the adventure, it's about 20 times busier than it used to be

It's a very friendly forum here though. I've been on so many forums where people argue and insult each other - I've not seen that once here.

Unfiction forum

Postby PUZZ » Tue Nov 06, 2007 9:22 pm

Hi Folks,

I did ask very nicely for the admin to remove a little of the posts on the Unfiction forum, just so the info didnt spoil it too much for new adventurer's - BUT this is what i got back from them.....
...........................
I must respectfully disagree with the notion that our users need to be
rescued from their own temptations. Additionally, the Unfiction Forum
was founded based in part on the strong principle that players should
have a location where they were able to discuss and disseminate
information without restriction (except in rare cases constituting
abuse, which as I previously pointed out, this is not). I am sure you
can see why your request runs counter to that principle.

If you like, I'd be happy to explore options for altering your
business model or perspective so that you might be more accepting (or
at least less irritated by) Isis players who enjoy playing in a
fashion you did not intend. Beyond volunteering my assistance in that
respect, however, I consider this matter closed.
....................
I decided to take up his offer for some remarkable alteration to my business model - NO reply as yet

yes and hes maybe a little sour hes not involved lol. Thats what unfiction do tho, ruin stuff. On Perplex, any card you wanted to you could find an answer to in a matter of seconds, though luckily in perplex it didnt matter so much.

Well i am a very active poster, i am online all day at work and so i constantly monitor a few forums. Just tell me to shut up when i wont.
