Pyramids and passwords

I agree with Puzz in relation to giving everyone a chance - i.e. giving us remote people a chance. There are however some pyramids with clear differences in clue difficulty to the rest.

For example - An easy one - the eastbourne pyramid clue.

A difficult one nobody has ever found - The bristol one.

I think the clues have to be difficult, or else people are gona be walking away with the golds, however, at the same time, they have to be 'solve-able' or else people will just give up hope on the entire adventure.

One idea I just had would be to keep everything the same, however if a particular pyramid hasnt been found in set period of time, a one word extra clue to be issued. And again, and again each month until it is found. At least something like this would keep interest (at least once each month) on a particular pyramid.

Just my two pennies, what do you guys think?

Yeah, I'm with you on that Rusty. I was enjoying the London one, as every few days, I solved a little bit more of it. I'm now at the point where I've run out of ways to search for ILP .

Perhaps after a month, we could be told how many letters the password is, and then maybe each month, an additional letter is revealed.

I think the store that I'm going to is getting a bit fed up of me going in with incorrect passwords, so it would be nice if I could check them to a certain degree before going in.

I agree with both of you.

A little more taesing with word lengths and random letters or extra clues but like the Cypher it would be useful, (maybe too useful) to know whether the clue related to the position or the password, or just how to solve.

Or am I asking it to be too easy?

Yeah, I completely agree with you guys... some sort of incremental hints at the password.... like maybe length, starting letter; Or maybe an expansion of the origional clue, or a hint to solving the origional clue... but released every month or so just to keep interest going.

Passwords must remain on all pyramids, its just impossible to do it any other way, weve already seen leaks and cheating going on with unprotected pyramids in the past, and even with passwords a minority caused issues with leaks.

Not necessarily impossible. All the pyramids contain individually numbered coins, right? (forget the idea of gold and silver for a moment). Make the clues only relevant to finding the pyramid location (a password will not be required, only your key), but prizes will only be paid out when ALL the coins within a pyramid have been claimed. Only then will SW make a random choice from all the claimed coins and announce the winning numbered coin as to who gets the first prize. This way the playing field is totally level for everyone as the first person to open the pyramid does not get the advantage, nor does anyone having the benefit of living close to the location. The pyramid keepers will also gain by having maximum throughput of people. As I can see it everyone wins. The only downside might be that the coins are once again claimed too quickly for SW's liking as forum members may be inclined to PM other members in a bid to speed up the coin claims (of course the facility of private messaging could always be removed). I'd like to hear your thoughts please.

Ok, I warn in advance, some might find what I'm about to say out of order...but it's my opinion, and we all have our right to one...so tough!!

The only problem with what you say is the sad fact that not everyone who has an open Isis has done it by themselves without nagging others here for help and without by going to another forum (which will remain nameless) for virtually a step-by-step guide on how to open it

In my mind, the adventure is as much a competition as it is an adventure, and personally I think the type of people I mention above deseve no prize for their "achievements"... and I'm sure that the passwords on the pyramids are stopping these weaker people (ok, cheaters ) getting to the pyramids before the more deserved of the adventurers among us

If the method you suggest (or similar) were to be implemented, then, as you say, locations would enevitably get PMed around hence giving more chance of success to those who (I believe) dont deserve it

So as much as the passwords sometimes irritate me because I can't always figure them out... I still think they're a good thing, and don't really need to be any easier.
After all, we all like a good puzzle! Right!?!?!

Yup, that sounds fair to me!
If this trial goes well then would the longterm plan be to have all of the future pyramids like this or to have just a selection like this, keeping some as the current style for those who prefer just the 1 clue but with a guarantee of
