Pyramids and passwords

buying guesses... what is the word coming to. Personally I like the challenge of driving half way across the contry to find out something (more accuratly nothing).
Yes it is very annoying not finding anything but it makes it sooooo much more exciting when you do get somewhere!

And anyway SW is doing an amazing job advertising all sorts of random tourist attractions!

These 3 guesses are for pyramid locations only. ie you are allowed to go to the location 3 times in a week and guess the password. This rule was put in when someone went to a location armed with 100+guesses and eventually won the gold. This was not in the spirit of the game so we put 3 guesses per week rule in to stop this. But you must still visit the location.

Still can't see a problem with this. The clue to the password is now so abstruse that even a 100 guesses will most certainly not guarantee you a gold.

I am now seriously starting to lose interest in the Pyramid hunt and password part of the adventure. From all the reading I have done on the forum I don't think I'm the only one who is disappointed with the difficulty of the so called "clues" which are not even cryptic by their nature!

I solve puzzles, hence why I brought the ISIS. I did some research but nothing mentioned I would need a password to open the Pyramid. OK it may have on the forum but when I buy a product I expect to have all this information readily available without having to trawl a forum.

I would really love to have the future generation of the puzzles but I am somewhat reticent to spend nearly

You are totally right, but I think it will go unrecognised.

Its all gone a bit corporate and international.

When I started you had Mods like Keltic Fox having a laugh and generally bening part of the quest. It seems like now we are just being informed of more rules, and even that might cost you money in the long run,

I agree with you both, and I think the majority of the users would agree as well. I just hope SW are involved enough to read these sorts of threads, take note of customer feedback and make some serious changes, otherwise there will be a severe decrease in sales for the second (and so on) in the ISIS series.
I guess we can just hope that SW start listening to their customers!

yes but i would imagine the vast majority of isis owners cant be bothered to open it - (might have been a gift), put it on a shelf, dont go on the forum.....etc etc....and so wont be bothered to voice their arguments.

Therefore, if the vast majority of isis owners dont really care about the changes, isis 2 sales wont really be affected....

and no, I can't see Isis 2 sales really being affected either.
Im still little annoyed about the passwords being introduced since when I bought my Isis they didn't exist, and its a pretty big rule change.... that said, I can see why its been done and I like the Isis as a puzzle and its nice to look at so I'll buy Isis 2 anyway

This is something that I feel quite strongly about. I love the Isis puzzle (not opened it yet, but I'm on my way!)... yet I wonder what the point of opening it will be. I feel happy unlocking a puzzle ball and deciphering a riddle to find a pyramid; basically this is what I expected when I bought the puzzle and is therefore what I paid for. I didn't expect the rules to change DURING a puzzle, for us to have to perform different tricks to obtain the goal.

Imagine if you only bought your Isis in May and just solved it now; a period of just over three months - a reasonable time for the so-called "most difficult puzzle". If you bought the puzzle four months previously and took this time to solve it you would only have a riddle to solve to get to the pyramid, yet you bought it in May, so you now are automatically penalised for buying it late; you have to provide a password too!

I honestly think that the extra measures (passwords etc.) are good, but they really shouldn't implement them until the new Isis is out. Changing the rules halfway through the game just isn't on; the adverts for the Isis still dont mention the new rules and passwords, so I think it's unfair to implement them just to punish us for those who have succeeded.

Ok so as I see it there are three frustrations about the decision to implement passwords to open the pyramids.

1. Passwords were introduced part way through the adventure.
2. The Location and Password clues are too difficult
3. Members don

Ok,

not an easy one to resolve this, however we are listening...

Passwords must remain on all pyramids, its just impossible to do it any other way, weve already seen leaks and cheating going on with unprotected pyramids in the past, and even with passwords a minority caused issues with leaks. I appreciate the clues are difficult, but they are not impossible, proved recently by both Denmark and WP. All the clues are set after hours of research by myself, and there is always a genuine obvious link in the clue to the answer.

I cant inform which pyramids contain gold or silver, otherwise the pyramid keepers who only have silver coins would suddenly have no one visiting them, which is one of our selling points in getting these locations to hold our pyramids in the first place.

However, the buy a guess option should help, and I will consider making the clues easier on some pyramids over the next few months, but I feel these will be claimed within a very short period and therefore it will be a short lived thing on these particular pyramids.
