Sometimes it is an actual Isis and sometimes another object such as a golf ball with numbers written on to quote.

The free Isis I found was a golf ball hidden in a tree!

all the best

Ahh thanks. But did'nt see any golf balls and too wet an area for velvet bags. Nought up trees but did put my hand in some very wet and soggy places. There were lots of snails, one tree stump had 5 inside and they will eat anything, just wondering if they ate note!!

Forgot to mention that one of my free Isis clues was 'within 8 paces' & '6 feet high'

The hider must have had long legs! Because it was 11 paces of mine and very high around 7 feet!

So maybe the 23 paces for this Isis, might be more like 30 ??

Anyway you did well finding the seat.

I think you should have been looking for a golf ball

PUZZ posted
secondly, we dont hide actual isis anymore because they get taken and not claimed, so waste, and more importantly its easier to hide a golf ball etc that a large isis.

It sounds like you found the right location, perhaps someone else got there before you, did it look like someone else had been looking there? Perhaps SW could confirm if it is still there.

I bet you were gutted after all the travelling (and expense) :(
Life is too short to waste.

I e-mailed SW who confirmed it is still there unclaimed!!

My mind is at peace because I didnt see any golf balls but maybe g0isw is right (So maybe the 23 paces for this Isis, might be more like 30 ??)
The 80 paces was 5 of my paces out but I did look longer and shorter.
Now I'm intrigued and maybe tempted to go again as no one else seems to have found location yet. I could have gone a litter further.
Oh dear what a to do :?

And I must add that the bites I got yesterday are awful, my hand, neck and ear have all swollen up. If anyone else goes REMEMBER TO TAKE INSECT REPELLANT!!!!
Just packed it in the rucksack for next time, oh yes there is a next time.
I think we should get danger money

Yay, go Brian, rootin' for ya from my desk in Bristol...

We kept forgetting the insect repellant in Devon, bloomin flies were nasty, no bites tho.

Good luck mate.

Good luck Wendy (Big Brian),

I had to go back twice too, but the feeling when you find it is fantastic.

I will be very surprised if there isn't a nearby marker or feature of some sort i.e. stone, tree, object etc.

Best of luck

If my cricket match is canceled I'd be tempted to drive to sunnier climbs but the thing is I do not know where to start. Mad thing about this Isis is its appeal to go and search.

Oh, how I'd like to just see one up close. I might go to the shops or get one of my golf balls out and pretend.

Good luck Big Brian if you return.

Thanks guys for all your support. Hopefully returning tomorrow for another look.
Do you think they would stamp a golf ball into the ground?
It was one idea I hadn't thought of. Not sure where else they would hide a ball apart from trees, rocks etc.
Have they ever buried any?
Hope the forcast is good and the mozzies are pre-occupied with the tourists.

Big Brian (Wendy),

It could be an Isis, it could be a golf ball or it could be anything else, but it will be obvious when you find it. :D

Have a look at some of the previous posts for other Free Isis that have been found and you will see what I mean. :)

I also personally believe that it will be hidden in such a way so as to avoid damage or loss by wind, rain etc. and highly unlikely it is far away from some other object or building or rock or tree etc. which would serve as a clear marker.

One previous hidden Isis was suspended metres in the air on the end of a cord above everyones head. 8)

Good luck

Yes, that particular Isis was a complete bugger. Not in an obvious spot, and 60 ft up. Locating the tree it was in was by standing in a random spot and 'seeing' two rows of trees. Rather diffuclt, but afterall it was found so someone somewhere had the right glasses on that day! Good luck.

Yes I remember the high up one too. I was there but rather too pre-occupied at the other end of the carpark with a telegraph pole! I did see the 2 rows of trees on a circular walk but only looked around the bottom of them.

Lessons learnt
*Never underestimate an isis hider!
*Always bring wellies
*Look up, down and all around
* But most important REMEMBER THE INSECT REPELLANT!!!

Right, well I'm throwing the towel in on this one!!! :(

Spent another 4 hours looking and even got stopped by security man who thought I was looking for drugs!! (this was the bit of the day when I was crawling around on my hands and knees looking under benches). After explaining and giving him the website he was ok but not totally convinced.
I will try to contact the 'other' side on this one cos I'm sure a dog has run off with it. Lots of dogs today. I tried the high up approach and even took pics with camera into holes in trees that were too high up for me to see into!
I've had my hands in soggy wet places and hopefully not been bitten this time.
Not sure how much more I can take
Is there anyone else out there to join ranks with??
Still all was not lost I had excellent fish 'n' chips and icecream.
