The area for discussion about the Copernisis, the 3rd puzzle in the Isis series.

First to solve

Postby admin » Fri Nov 19, 2010 10:23 pm

Folks,

I have had an email from Steve on his solution to the Copernisis, and I am truly impressed ! Steve has asked if he cheated, I say NO.

Someone asked what is he going to do now that he has solved the Copernisis, wait another 2 years for the next puzzle, well he does still have the opportunity to work out the proposed solution I set, which has some "eureka" stages, which when worked out will be very satisfying when solved.

So although Steve is the first to open the copernisis and retrieve the key, I am still waiting for the answer from the first to solve my intended solution.

First to solve my intended solution and email me will all correct stages and solutions will be awarded with one of the first new iball games that will be launched next year.

best regards

Congratulations Steve :D :D That really was an impressive opening time! :D :D

I picked up my LE Copernisis from the post office this morning, it really is a nice looking puzzle. I have no idea where to start, but I'm looking forward to figuring it out ... hopefully :D

My first attempt yesterday was fruitless, the Copernisis did not work the way I though it would (luckily).
The clue in the secret compartment was readable, but did not tell me how to position the planets.

Today I tried a different approach, and after one specific Eureka moment . . . BINGO!
Nice puzzle, well constructed, but not as complex as I expected it to be.
I think I did not solve it in Andrews intended way. So I guess the iball is still up for grabs.
Maybe I used 'the Steve Method' ?
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Congratulations, I think you must have solved it in about the same amount of time as I did. :D

I have spoken to evilkeen about 5% club entry, I we both agreed not to show the planetary alignment in the photo.
Firstly so that it does not spoil the puzzle for Kevin or Ade.
Also the photos are useless if they are picked up by internet searches.

Another one bites the dust (using an alternative solution)... well done guys! :D

Did you manage to tie it in with the equation in the end or are you now trying to work it backwards to see what the intended solution is?

Yes, but as far as I am concerned, knowing the solution doesn't give me that much of an advantage. :?
Let's just say that the clue is ambiguous to say the least.

And again I agree completely with Steve.
Good news for everybody: any Copernisis picture you may find on the Internet will have an invalid planet constellation, that is 1 out of 188000000 combinations less to try out...
That said, I don't see where that huge number comes from exactly.

More detailed discussion shall take place in the 5% club (or maybe the 20% club, calculated from actual deliveries and solvings...)
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

That's the easy part,

Well done Steve first to open!

Wasn't it a Steve that was first to open the Ramisis too?

Who was first to open the Isis? Does anyone know?

Anyway glad to see that this puzzle is now out and being shipped.

I think it was Steve "cornettracing80" who opened the Ramisis first, I may be wrong.
