June-2 Found!

June-2 Found!

Postby Z3r0San1ty » Thu Sep 04, 2008 12:58 am

Now lemme first start off by saying the reason I kept myself quiet for this time of when I was going was because 1. last time I made a post of my trip someone got there a day before me to claim a coin, and 2. a tourist of some sort snagged the other coin as well so I came up empty handed that day. So without further a doo here it goes again (mind you I wrote it out once already and it got deleted by accident :( ) the clues stated "Often known as big red, big red, take a step in the right direction, and you may get lucky." Now looking at it I started to wonder if Puzz is still keeping the pattern of placing 2 coins in same states so to speak as for example the central park had 2 coins in it, thinking on that logic I knew where the June 3 coin was and started to think of other landmarks in the area but looking up on google for a "big red apple" didn't work out so well so I started to think outside the box studying the clues and thinking ok Bolts and New York, Bolts and New York, then it reading more into the clue of "take a step in the right direction" not sure why but it brought me to start thinking of the Statue of Liberty, I guess with the torch being in her right hand not to mention the statue is built with bolts and nuts to hold together for a structure, going on a hunch of like thinking that this was the spot I took the gamble and setup the plans for today with my girlfriend to visit the Statue of liberty on a wimb. So here I am or atleast on the island that is. Image take the risk with the girlfriend wondering if its a fools run and How I may not evenbe in the right location. So enjoying the visit looking around we started to accend up the stairs to the observation and looking around I'm seeing lots of bolts so it had me even more confident thinking I was in the right spot, further up the stairs we came across some Really Big bolts and looking at the picture clue some more and looked at the nut, they were identical so I started looking around some and noticed there were a bunch of lil dark holes that looked like they could of been the spot to wherre the coin could of been hiding so what did I do? That's right my girlfriend and I started to feel around in the holes not realizing what we were even sticking our hands into other than dust and probably grease, But as it is going uup the steps reaching in every hole we could find near those bolts we came up empty handed during the accend upward, a lil dissappointed for not finding the coin going up the stairs we eventually got tired of being up so high and decided to start to decend, while we were decending down the steps we came across more of those bolts & and nuts and I told my girlfriend to start checking the holes as we decend we still could have chance of finding it, for the most part we came up empty handed some more decending down the steps checking the holes till about 14 dark holes later my hand finally grabbed a felt like bag and out of shock I yelled to my girlfriend that Ifound the coin, so with that in mind and excitment I took the bag and we quickly decended down the steps, knowning that I was confident that this was the coin so we took the bag outside so we could see better where I unwrapped the black bag, finding out this was a gold coin in the bag and not a silver one I was in shock I pretty much was speechless for a few mins till I could catch my breathe again. :) I guess you could say I got really luck for going on a hunch thinking it was the location and just sticking my hand in random holes up the stairwel in hopes of finding it so I'd say for the clue of "You may get lucky" I suppose I really was for finding it, That sums of the story of the coin Thanks for reading and Happy Hunting and Thanks SW for giving me the chance. Below I will link the Location of where the coin was actually hiding and the other link will be the unveiling of the gold coin.

It sounds as though there was quite a lot of luck involved in finding the exact location!

Brilliant story!

It seems so strange seeing the videos and remembering that I was there back in February tying up that bag and deciding with Puzz where to put it.

Congratulations!
