July 2007 - Germany

Thank you for having this verified.

Does "The free isis is still there" mean it's not a coing hidden?
This makes a lot (about [edit: 430 gram] and several centimeters) of difference when searching . . .

Hey, this one is now removed from the list of free Isis, even in the English version. It is not even reported 'found'.
Ade, SW, can anyone please explain?
Is it still worth making the trip?

Postby PUZZ » Sun Dec 30, 2007 1:43 am

Im a bit confused as to why this has been removed from the list too. Im not aware of anyone finding this yet, and the my web guy is on hols for a few days, so we will have to wait and see why its been removed from the list.

35 minutes, that's worth the trip, lucky you.
For me the trip would be about 2,5 hours (one way)

Well, where was the Isis hidden?
Or is it still there (say yes)?

FYI

We will soon be releasing the Isis to the German general public and there will therefore be a higher number of people searching for this one.

As it has been so long a little extra digging around may be needed to find this one as the hiding place is probably quite overgrown now.

Thanks for the additional hint Ade.
Since I already found a free Isis, and this one is a several hours drive from my home, and the local geocachers I contacted have either stopped responding or quit searching after multiple atempts, I have decided not to go for it myself.
Good luck to future German Isis searchers, they have an easy one to start with.

FOUND !

Postby LouIsis » Wed Apr 02, 2008 8:51 pm

This ISIS was found today !

One of the fellow geocachers I contacted last year to search for this ISIS found it after all, even though he did not manage to find it on two earlier attempts. This is his short story:

a fellow geocacher wrote:Hi,
I found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today I made a cache control in the forest. When I left the location, I saw a wooden stump ,maybe twenty metres away from my cache with a hole covered by a small piece of wood. Inside the hole I found a round metallic box, with the Isis. Its great, you solved the riddle and the isis was hidden very near the position you told me.

He sent me a picture of the actual ISIS ball, so the ball itself was hidden there, for over 8 months!
Soon this Isis will be added to my shelf...
