Another up and running. On the results of the first google'ing attempt it looks like it could be in the south west - another of Ade's little gems maybe????

I thought this one might be Dartmoor
but Barton Fell in the Lake District looks like a better match, I could be wildly wrong.

I haven't given up on Dartmoor
then there is Exmoor and Bodmin Moor to look at too
It will all have to wait, it's Valentines night and there are other things to do

My first thought on reading the clue was 'Homer's Odyssey' (get it?). Barton Fell sort of fits except for the 'heavy' part.
Having traversed Dartmoor a few times, that grey block in the distance looks a bit like the Cranmere Pool letter box.
Just had a good look at the photo and it looks like the photo is taken looking northish if that dark blob to the bottom right is a shadow, which might rule out the pool if I remember correctly as the terrain slopes downwards going north not up as it's the source of three rivers. But it has been a while. However, it does look more SW than N (i.e. no craggy terrain)

Man I wish I was in the UK, I have a great theory on where it is that fits the clue perfectly and google maps shows it as being a flat area. Though if I were there I'd have no clue really where to look once i got to the area b/c I don't see how the clue can be an exact location unless its hidden under that green rock looking thing in the middle of the picture.

Well done Sue right on it, I think it's at Swarth Fell(barton fell's stone circle)
If you look at the Photo I think you can see one of the small stones.
Come you lot up there get your hiking boots on.

I`m from holland, so I can`t check wether this actually is the place to be, but it looks a little like it:
