The only thing I can think of is a tow-path along the bank of a canal. I've got no further than this :-/

Having finally opened my Isis, I NEED another one now so I might put a bit more effort into solving these!

Glad to hear you managed to open your Isis without having to resort to splashing out the readies. Had a mega quick look at this one and I also think its a canal bank, may even know which one but until I can do a little more digging I can't really say.

'toe the line' is an old sailors expression meaning to muster on deck smartly (ie line everyones toes up with the lines on the deck)

so you might even be looking for a bank with a wooden floor.

but the canal idea sounds good to me.
