Strangely enough the extract that is reviewed on many web sites is taken from pages 200-201 but I'm sure its coincidence rather than a deliberate typo (pages for paces). The events described would suggest its near the end of the book and point you towards London. :D Then again she did have a house at that site for her brief stay.

been looking into this clue, I find 3 locations for this

the 1st is about 130 miles from me so I might as well forget this one,
did anyone have any luck with the "within the twines remove every elf" clue? possible anagram but I couldn't make anyhting with it, however if things are normal it's either under a rock or hidden in a tree :)

Did she not live in a tower for a time
If you zoom out there is an interesting street called --- row looks a bit more than 200 paces though

Hi Toma,

Welcome to the forum.

Personally I think the deer park is the most likely location. You might want to look at the
solutions to UK December 1 of ? and September 1 of ? (2007) It's possible that they
have used a similar technique on the last part of this clue.

As I've said before I don't like the go 200 paces bit. I don't think its a distance, I think you
need to find something in the park synonymous with 200 paces and near a 'twines remove
every elf'

Just a thought.

How ye diddlin
I see what your saying, However is the main part of her story, those days in which the magic number thrice are mentioned> (sounding like a monty python sketch now)
when taking info from the paper source, I looked at the part in spartans minus pennies in a pound, and it mentioned her passing.
This was also when she towered above all, andthere is a small place near by which could hold the 'twines remove
every elf'. Oh! and thanks for the heads up on that one.

You should be writing these riddles

If I get the gist of it my only comment would be that the locations are usually free to access
with at most a couple of quid parking fee. You wouldn't normally need to be paying a large
entrance fee to access the location. Which rules out two of the three locations. It could be
just outside the perimeter though, they did that before at Warwick Castle.

I think she was dispatched in the expensive part, away from the crowds. Her husband was
dealt with in the area you refer to, but it could be roughly 200 paces as the crow flys from
her temporary home.

I'm sticking with the deer park though

Hi Toma,

Welcome to the forum.

Nice to read comments from a newbie, have you looked at the other outstanding Free searchers

any input is welcome. Trying to find a rock or a horse trail is as bad as 200 paces in the deer park

Just a thought for those looking around the deer park

here is the standard scale of English measurement

1 inch = 1 inch (length of the thumb's first segment)
1 foot = 10 inches (0.8333 English feet)
1 pace = 3 feet or 30 inches (2.5 English feet)
1 stride = 2 paces, 6 feet, or 60 inches
1 fathom = 2 paces, 6 feet, or 60 inches
1 stature = 70 inches ("stature of a fit man")
1 furlong = 200 paces or 100 strides (1/10th of a mile)
1 mile = 6000 feet, 2000 paces, or 1000 strides
1 league = 5000 paces, 2500 strides, or 2.5 miles

Yeah I had a wander up too. DIdn't get any inspiration though apart from if you walk towards john from the
side entrance of the ruin there is a big oak tree on its own where there is a break in the dry stone wall
to let the path through, and its about 200 paces from the side entrance. Trouble is the lowest branches
are way out of reach and there are no cavities in the trunk.

I don't recall seeing any signs that actually say "The home of .... .... ....". If there is one somewhere,
maybe that is the reference point.

I seem to remember the Westonbirt Isis had a clue something like 500 grains of sand on the cliff and it
was actually a dedication on a bench numbered 500 with the name Sandra Cliffe. There are loads of
bench dedications at this place so maybe there is anumber 200 and a name such as Paice ?
