oh poo, I really thought I had a chance with this, as found the location, and reference to Erica. I just couldn't get there till tomorrow - and it is sooooooo close to me to arrghh

Congratulations though and a BIG thanks for posting early and saving me a wasted journey - and the disapointment of finding a note (if indeed I found it in the first palce)

Typical. I figure one out correctly and it's within a reasonable distance of where I live and someone beats me to it. Although, I too thought Erica was heather.

Well done anyway.

Well done on your find. I was miles off, thought it was Paxton's Tower near Carmarthen - It's a castellated folly on a hill that overlooks the Botanical Gardens of Wales that contain a sculpture called Pi that was designed to form a circumscribed view of the tower from the side. It is said that on a clear day from the top of the tower you can see seven counties. I wonder if this was a coincidence or a deliberate trap ? Congratulations again.

Actually, what turned out to be the correct location was my second find.

My first thought was Symonds Yat, again fairly close to the Severn, but where the shape of the river Wye can be seen rather like a certain Greek letter, and I thought aha, PI. Only afterwards did I realise I was thinking of OMEGA, not PI. Doh!

At least you weren't wandering around a wet and windy hillfort this morning looking for something that was gone before you even saw the clue despite the speed with which you figured it out and reacted. This was the first one in ages I could feasibly reach, may we have some more in Wilts or Glos please Puzz? :)
