Confusion

Postby PUZZ » Sun Dec 09, 2007 8:20 pm

Traditional logic is binary: either a proposition is true or it is false, either black or white.

Am I right when I see a meadow in this picture or am I suffering from red herringism?

Really does look like something way down in the south of England, may be the red herring though!!

Perhaps I am looking at something that is far too obvious but the pictures I have found sure look like it!

The fish part of the clue could refer to PISCES - the Partnership of Irish Sea Coast and Estuary Strategies - which covers the Ribble estuary which is where Naze point is located.

As for the image, fiddling with the brightness/contrast I think the top right part is a plaque with a few lines of text on, the largest starting '04' or possibly 'B4'/'84'.

Skizz, I could be wrong but I think you may be over thinking some of these clues! I guess you like the cryptic crossword puzzles!
Am pretty sure trigpoint is your little red fishy!

Since the photo doesn't look like the Naze trig point (and there doesn't appear to be anywhere to secrete a coin), there might be something else nearby, a public information board for example, with a reference to the PISCES organisation (something like 'Funded by PISCES').

Looking at photos of the trigpoint, there are benches nearby, does one have a fishy inscription? That would be similar to the 'quarryman' clue. Unfortunately, I don't live nearby otherwise I'd pop out and have a look around.

The first line of the puzzle is still a mystery as is PUZZ's hint above. I even tried making the image monochrome.

I think the photo looks like a Satellite photo and may be the greyish area is the Estuary with the sun reflecting of it.
:?

Come on someone up that way has got to go and have a look!

It looks like a nice part of the country too......
