Well, if the 'refreshing' part is not related to the cake then there's a few more cake related towns it could be.

I suppose we could include buns, since a bun is a small cake and being small you could eat it all. Bath Buns come to mind and Bath is of course a spa town...
Not looked for a picture connection yet though...

Must admit the Chelsea idea may be a good one, Chesea, sea being refreshing and of course Puzz being in the London area on Tut business..

Followed up the Bath Spa idea, as it's near me... but I can't really find any connections between the Roman Baths, The Pump Room (which sells cakes) and the picture. The picture is too celtic. No such stone work around the Roman Baths.

Shame... would have been close enough for me to search almost on a weekly basis :P

Cake in the clue was a reference to Kendal Mint Cake but the refreshing

part was I think more a reference to the drinking fountain than the Mint

Cake. I thought that the carving was a Celtic Knot design and after

trying several searches I eventually found that Kendal, Celtic and Design

in Flickr gave the disused drinking water fountain in Abbot Hall Park.

I could only find one clear picture on the Internet. This showed the

pattern on the front of the fountain which had the basic three strand

design but was not a perfect match with the picture in the clue. I did

find a reference to the fountain that said there were different designs on

each face so I was convinced it was the right place.

We parked in the Abbot Hall Car Park near one of the entrances to the

park. We then saw the obelisk of the fountain about 100 yards away.

We took a print-out of the Celtic Knot design in the clue with us, and

on approaching the obelisk we realised that the side facing us had the

identical design on it. There were a lot of potential hiding places including

the Christmas Tree behind it, but it was in the hole at the back which I

think may have been where the drainage pipe was once fitted as there is

what appears to be an open drain below it.
