Thanks guys, I have to admit that on the climb up to the top of the Hill Fort there are lots of stairs. I felt a little bit like Rocky in that scene when he jogs and the stairs, with his theme tune going off in the back ground.

Not that I'm the fighter but anyone who wants to look for one of these should not give up, and yes I had 11 (just remember I when to Luton as well) fail attempts but I enjoyed every one of them.

Now I one found I will be concentrating on the Pyramids and looking for gold! How many fail attempts is that going to take do ya think?

Excellent, well done Lodgecrest, at last eh?

I have to admit that I was wondering when geocaching and these isis hunts were going to combine in some way or other. I never did get round to searching for "Ade's friends". It also looks like a beautiful location.

Well done again mate.

I was quite surprised as i didn't think the free isis' came in a box?? i thought they came in a bag and then if you wanted the box you had to buy it sepeartely?! it looks just like a normal isis, except the engraving on mine isn't quite so good... oh well, a free isis is a free isis!!! lol :D

Back in 2007 when real isis balls were hidden, they were hidden without a box. Later the coins (or other substituting items) were hidden in stead of the real balls. When such an item is found and reported, SW (or Amerone) send the finder an Isis I, probably just one from their stock.
They are plain normal Isis I balls as far as I know.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I remember reading they are rejects with slightly less than perfect finishing, but nothing overly detrimental.

The original disclaimer is at the beginning of 'The Isis Search' thread in the announcement 'Notice on free Isis':
https://www.isisadventure.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=372
I've had two free Isis since coins were hidden and both were fully boxed and in excellent condition as far as I can tell. In fact the first one had the price tag on it so I assume it was from stock. Perhaps their quality control is so good now that they don't make rejects.

hopefully i can clear this up,
the free isis are normally taken direct from stock, however,
if there is a cosmetically damaged one, then it may be sent.
all free isis are fully functional and aren't necessarily defective.

hope this helps! Bing

i thought it might be a 1c kind of thing ,where we all could see by the collection pictures which isis's where the "free search" isis's...
i guess standard issue isis's are the best way :)
just as long as they arent giving away those god awful purple TSI balls

just kidding..there is no such monster as a ugly isis..they are all beautiful.
