500 days and increasing ... that's only 20 pounds a day and decreasing...
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

673 days now - so no one has completed Stage 1. Even by Andrew's standards, this is proving too tough for anyone to get. I feel that if another clue isn't issued soon, the PP should really be withdrawn due to lack of interest. Now that I've opened my Copernisis and failed miserably with the Star Map (one go only ???),I need something to occupy myself with.Come on Andrew, clue please!!!!

Anyone else got this far?

Well its taken me about a year on and off, but at last found out where the photo is taken, and absolutely no idea how it relates to the clue  . Now even more convinced that the picture is symbolic rather than literal.

Hi all,

Found the building in the photo, but can make no sense from the clue, even looked around the building in Google 'street view' to see if anything sprang out.
Has anyone managed to get the second clue yet?

The "stage 1 complete" counter is still at zero:

Just noticed on the Sonic Games facebook page that a question was asked if the @sonicwarp.com Email address is still correct for the platinum pyramid. Official reply is that it isn't despite the fact that it has not been corrrected in the actual clue.

I just tried an experiment sending to both the sonicgames-uk.com and sonicwarp.com email addresses

I received two identical messages back from MAILER-DAEMON@out1.ip05ir2.opaltelecom.net so it would seem that both forms of the email address are valid and redirecting to the same server.

The contents of the message were:

The following message to <*******@sonicgames-uk.com> was undeliverable. The reason for the problem: 5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'No Such User Here"

Which is what I would have expected if the constructed email address is wrong.

If you're not getting a reply and you haven't solved the clue correctly it might be something to do with your spam filter.

How did you manage to find out where the picture was taken? I'm still totally stumped

the picture is the third part of the puzzle. the first is the h2o number and email, the second part of the puzzle they email to you. (from what i can gather)

hi argod, what makes you think that the picture is the 3rd part, and does not belong to the h2o number clue directly?

I'm pretty sure that is not true. If you look back through this thread you will see that clue 1 of 3 went live in April 2009 and consisted purely of the text part. After six months of requests for a further clue the photo was added in October 2009 but it is a hint to solving clue 1. There was also apparently an extra hint inside some of the gold and copper Isis editions.

Clue 2 is emailed to people who construct the correct email address from the clue and send an email to it. As the counter is still ticking it would appear that nobody has solved clue 1 yet.

I would assume that the solution to clue 3 (however that is received) will have to be delivered in person to a certain island on the pyramid map.

Personally I'd be happy to stop the clock :)

BTW I have the feeling that the original e-mail address from clue 1 is getting deprecated, I received this answer:
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
********** @sonicwarp.com
Technical details of permanent failure:
The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect.
[(0) sonicwarp.com. [208.91.197.44]:25: Connection timed out]

now it really looks like that the mail server is down

Yes I just tried sending to sonicwarp.com and haven't received any resonse yet (but might need longer to time out). sonicgames-uk.com however immediately returns the 550: No Such User Here response. I also noticed that if you type http://www.sonicwarp.com into the url bar of a browser it goes to a generic domain registration page. When I did this a few months ago it redirected to http://www.sonicgames-uk .com. According to whois the domain name was due to expire in June 2012 but appears to have been renewed for another year. However this could be the domain name provider holding it pending a lapsed renewal.

Just noticed there is a link "Why are there ads here?" on the top right of the http://www.sonicwarp.com redirection page which pretty much confirms that the domain name was not renewed and is in a grace period.

I tried that too, which some of my guesses, but I haven't had a response from my latest one yet and I'm getting paranoid that I broke the system. Received an almost instant bounce back from sonicgames-uk.com, but nothing from sonicwarp.com :?:

I did send a message on facebook asking about getting the clue updated so that we all know which address we're meant to send our answer to though.
