Pay to Guess Questions

Postby haggis » Sun Nov 04, 2007 11:38 pm

Just a few Questions about the "Pay to Guess Password" utility. Could somebody please tell me:

1. Is the utility case sensitive?
2. How is the number of Challengers derived?
3. Why can you guess passwords for pyramids that have given up their Gold? (I thought a password wasnt required for these pyramids.)
4. After 30/11/2007 what will the price be to guess?
5. If you havent used all your credits before 30th Nov will they still be valid after 30th Nov?

Cheers

Below are the answers from PUZZ regarding my Questions above:

No not case sensitive

Yes you will be able to use any existing credits after price goes up

As you know we dont openly publicise which pyramids have gold coins, so its up to the individuals to work this out via research before they select a pyramid without gold.

Challengers, is how many people have had a guess on the pyramid.

After reading jmcentire's solving virtual pyramid #27 post,(congratulations by the way) I must admit that I feel a little disgruntled. The problem is that with these riddles we have no way of telling how long the password is, up until now I assumed that the passwords have to be between 9 and 12 letters long, judging by the pyramid passwords already posted.
Is there any way that the password checker can tell us how many letters are required.
I say this because in the past I have ruled out very long words for being longer than is required.

assume nothing. thats what i think anyway when it comes to these riddles...

all we know about them is they are alphanumerical, and have no spaces... no special characters.... and are not case sensitive.....

you will have to go review all of your dissmissed words now.... won't you be soooo anoyed if you had the password weeks ago..
