Forced to pay for credits?

So I have a copernisis nk and opened it and registered it. Trying to play the password game but the site says I have to buy credits. With the kuku I get 1 try every 7 days but with the nk I have to always buy credits? That doesn't seem very fair to me. Can anyone else confirm this?

I'm sure you used to be able to check the NK passwords in a similar way to the Kuku system, it was something like 1 free play every week? However, they must have changed this as I've just logged onto my NK account and it wouldn't let me check a password for free either
