hello everyone
so I just got one of these isis orbs from ebay and I think the person who had it last opened it and put it together incorrectly. just would like any info about if the alignment is correct.

from the pictures above you can see the little metal circles I believe they should be aligned. if anyone could share any info on this ill greatly appreciate it.

Hi Makan,
Welcome to the forum! It looks like the lock was triggered before the previous user had finished screwing the puzzle shut (you are correct that the 'placentas' should line up; there also should be no gap in the middle of the puzzle). :? Depending on how they started to close it, this may or may not be a problem (things on the inside might not line up in order to solve it the intended way). I would suggest deciphering the clues and attempting to solve as normal, and we can give you guidance on what to do if it appears that the puzzle was put together in a way which blocks some components.
Good luck!

After hours of trying I’m under the impression that my orb wasn’t put together correctly. If anyone has any insight on this I’ll be very grateful

Hmm, that would definitely make it challenging to open as intended
I've been lucky with the ones I purchased off of ebay and they have all been assembled correctly.

Damn I get the worst luck. Basically after I got this one I found one that was cheaper and had everything plus the key. So mad

Hi everyone!!

I think I'm having the same problem as Makan. I bought the Isis in Ebay abnd arrived with the 2 circles misaligned. I have tried to do the "special" shortcut solution (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0sCGotCw2Y) but I can't get the 2 bearings to stop sounding... or so I think so. I keep hearing "something" inside, so I'm not sure if there is something wrong. Can it be totally broken/keep hearing something inside but be missing the second set of bearings?

Thanks for the help!!

Should only hear the balls...

Is what you are hearing round (IE does it move somewhat freely when tilted)

If so it is likely fine

A few thoughts:
First, some of the orbs have keys in them, so if there is a clunking sound in addition to a rolling sound, that could be the cause. The key won't go quiet, so it could make it harder to hear what else is going on.
Second, I have not seen an orb get stuck in the position you are showing with the two placentas a quarter turn out of alignment. Usually they get stuck at a half turn. It is possible that the engraving on yours is slightly out of alignment, or someone could have changed the internals, but that would seem unlikely. Are you sure you are turning the puzzle the correct direction? Some of them can be turned so the engravings go past each other. Also, some of the puzzles have modified bottom sections which make it more difficult to get it to go quiet (don't want to spoil anything here...). I would keep working at it and see if you can get the rolling to stop.

Hi! Thank you for your reply. I don't think there is anything inside freely moving... It sounds like something's stuck inside. Also sometimes when I press the botton it doesn't move at all, as if something was in the way impeding it from pressing.

WAIT!!! I'VE GOT AN UPDATE!! I was writting these lines while reading some other post that said to somneone else to try to force it to unscrew/screw and.. it snaped!! Is not open thought, its like half open and it can move a little. I'll show you.

Thanks for the reply! I have an update on the issue I just wrote on the previous post. Just read in some other post that said to someone else to try to force it to unscrew/screw and.. it snaped!! Is not open thought, its like half open and it can move a little like I showed on the previous post.

If you know anything about this position please help! I have already seen the inside of the puzzle in videos and such, so there is no spoilers for me! I'll try some stuff for the time being.

WAIT, GOT IT!!

But I don't think this is supposed to be like this...

First, that doesn't seem like the right key... isn't it? That might be what I was hearing inside, and what was sometimes blocking the bottom.

Secondly, the ball bearings... mod edit: removed to prevent spoilers

Any comments on either one of these things?

Thanks!!

Hello,

New to this forum and I also need help please.

I purchased a used Isis orb in 2015 and played around with it for a while and got nowhere so put it away until now.
On try again to open it I’ve realised that is been put together incorrectly. My two symbols on the fixed rings don’t match up, I’ve also noticed there’s a lot of extra noise inside from the metal part moving around and this blocks the plunger pin from moving sometimes. I also suspected I have stuck ball bearings or possibly missing some as I can’t hear them. Is my puzzle now trash or could it be fixed?

Any help would be gratefully received as I have spend hours trying to open it, I’ve tried the tips on YouTube and had no success, I also think my orb is a later one as it doesn’t have Isis 1 written on the wooden box and has a clasp rather than a push button to open it.

Thanks Nick.
