The Isis Adventure

I got a used Isis from ebay, it arrived this morning. Apparently it has never been opened or registered on the site.

I can't get the site to accept the numbers and the placentas do not match up. Clue 11 doesn't seem to work, and I can't hear the BB in the base section.

Think I may need to send it in to get it repaired, Any ideas for something that I can try myself to repair it/get it to open?

I might not be the one who will help you, but I'm quite curious
what makes you think that it wasn't opened yet, or registered on the site?
your description sounded like if quite a few things went horribly wrong when the previous owner tried to reset it, and maybe the registration did not worked because the serial was already registered before
also: what angle are the placentas from each other? is it 180, or else?

PS: maybe this topic should be in the Isis 5% club, as you probably expect the answers to contain details on (emergency) opening methods of isis

Previous owner said they'd never been able to open it that was their reason for selling it. I tried to add it along with my previous isis and the website said that there was something missing when i tried to input the number.

The placentas are about 1 maybe 2 cm apart.

the seller could have lied to you, it would be highly unusual that SG has given away a completely stuck isis

but to not to judge your seller too quickly I have to add: he might have bought it second hand already stuck too

He said he had tried, but couldn't get it open. So there's every chance that he'd got it stuck himself.

managed to get it open about half an hour ago, hurray for defrosting. Still having problems getting it registered, so I've e-mailed Andrew to ask about that. That's my 2nd Isis solved, just waiting on the 3rd one arriving (Isis of Eden).
