Plunger Woes (or, the saga of my aching fingers)

Hmmm.

My friend has stolen my NKryptor (as I remain, despite helpful hints, woefully unable to open it) so I'm back to plugging away - literally - at my Isis again.

Now then, this post is taking me about fifteen times longer to post than usually because my fingers are so stiff from pushing the bloody plunger. Sometime it seems that it sticks and won't go all the way down, but I think that so far it's just my fingers giving up on me.

So, a question:

Will I be able to tell when I've "reached the halfway stage" clearly (as in it's a very "solid" half-way stage), or is it something fleeting that might not be ... so solid...? I just don't know whether I'm getting there or whether it's just my fingers, or perhaps simply a lack of lubrication :-$

I know what you mean about the NKryptor... that took me ages, possibly the most frustrating puzzle in the world in my opinion :D

The short answer to your question is yes, you will certainly know; the long answer can be found inside the 5% club

My plunger did start to go a bit stiff once , a small drop of 3-in-1 oil down the plunger hole did the trick

You should notice it as the clue says but don't expect the button to fly up into the air or anything xD

Thanks, both of you!

I think I may be suffering like bluesign2k, and might just need a bit of WD40 down it. It seems to *almost* stick, but if I REALLY push it is just gives way again.

Hmmm.

Yeh, this was my issue. I managed to completely stop this by removing the plunger and cleaning it and the hole, then using some thin oil. Clearly you won't be able to remove the plunger (yet), but some oil should help :)

Damnit, I thought I was getting somewhere :-(

Thanks anyway! I'll definately put some thin oil in to quash my false hopes ;-)

Don't go mad with the oil, a couple of drops is more than enough..

I am at the same stage as you happy hannah :? I can make the placentas move 1 cm apart as many times as I want :D , but I cant get to the halfway stage. I am pressing the plunger, my fingers are aching but still it goes all the way down. :? Also I am not sure if I am supposed to be trying to get to the halfway stage while my placentas are at 1 cm apart stage, or while they are realigned. :( Another thing I am not sure about is the 180 degrees apart stage. Does it come after the 6th clue or 8th clue?
