Clue help and progress on solving the Isis

BIG problem...

Postby Rosko » Thu Nov 15, 2007 8:30 pm

I got the Isis a few days ago and really only worked on it yesterday, after looking in these forums for a few extra clues (There are too many in my opinion) I had it open within 10 minutes.

That's all fine, although, while showing my friend, he closed it again. So now the placentas are 180 degrees apart and there is one big problem that I will not say here because it will reveal how to open it, but it involves the third Ball Bearing... Possibly stuck in the starting point forever... Please, anyone help...

Just offer and I'll PM anyone who has already opened it exactly how I opened it and where that bearing is now...

I suspect it is now sealed forever. Sucks, I had it open for all of 5 minutes... I'm tempted to make him buy a whole new one.

P.S. I have the US version, so no key was in it, only a code.

Ummmm. I don't think anyone is going to tell you anything like that outside the 5% club. Did you take a picture of it while it was open? Did you get the code out? ANYTHING to prove you opened it?

Without any of these it's going to be very difficult to help you.

Agreed.. it can be opened from where you're at. Others have had the same problem and managed to get it open (myself included) again. Think of what you know about it and go from there...

I understand people may be suspicious, and thats fine. If there is anyone on here that has opened it, I'll PM you everything I did and you can decide if it's been opened or not.

It was open, though I didn't take a picture or anything, and there is no key in there. So again, I understand,

The problem is that the "third" ball was replaced in its original spot, THEN he closed it, but only half way, so, the path is no longer lined up. Trying real hard not to say any more in here.

I have another friend at work who has one, I'll open it, take a picture and post it, will that suffice?

I'm not trying to get around the rules or anything, really, I just don't like spending $200 for something that worked once the second day, and may now just be a paperweight.

So, if you insist there still is a way, I'll keep trying, but I doubt it. Again, anyone who has opened it, I'll PM you and you decide.

Thanks in advance.

Contact info@sonicwarp.com to find out how to send it for repair. They will repair and reset your ISIS. :D

Hope that helps,

And if there is one thing I've learned from this forum ... DON'T LET YOUR FRIENDS TOUCH YOUR ISIS !!

Your not the first story like this we have heard.

YES... Thanks cslrobert.

I actually spoke to a guy from Sharper Image who deals with them, when I explained what happened, he confirmed it was locked for all time and I had to send it off for repairs... Oh well. At least I know.

Thanks again for the help. And yeah, no more letting anyone touch it. although, I do think it's a little easy to screw up once open, I mean, you could even lose something very important.

Yeh, it's possible but it certainly won't be easy from that state! It'll be a good challenge though

The guy you spoke to is a fool, it is certainly possible though it will be infinitely harder than before. If you had it open within 10 minutes last time then you'll certainly get value for money this time

Blue,

I PMd you. I really don't think there is a way, but if after you read that and still think there is... I may need to draw a diagram showing what I mean... and if you STILL say it can be opened, well then, I guess I'll send it to you to see for yourself, and if you STILL say yes, it can be opened, well I'll try open it then...

Thanks again for the help.

Don't send it away!! From the States it's sooooo expensive. You can open it from where you're at, I know exactly what you're talking about. Trust me.. I had bigger problems then what you're dealing with now and that was just opening it for the first time. Keep at it, blue's right, you'll definatly get your money's worth now :D

Yeah. Sending it from here is crazy... So now two people have said it can still be opened, so maybe it can. I don't mind trying, I love puzzles. However, I opened a work colleague's Isis to examine the internal workings some more, and again, I just don't see how it's possible... But, all that said, I will work on it anyway.

Thanks again all.

OK,,, for certain, it's jammed for good. I've been looking at two open ones (I opened them both) trying to figure out if there is any way to open my jammed one,,, I'm convinced, it's dead. There is no way... In fact, this could all be avoided by a very simple design change regarding the locks... But oh well. Guess it's time for the power tools.

Thanks to those who tried to help.

Rosko,

As you have already read in this thread, your Isis is NOT locked forever, others have solved this before.
If you have opened two other Isis, why don't you use one of them to get access to the 5% forum, and then find directions to open yours.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

yeah, I'll open one on Monday and get in there then. Didn't think that would work, thought I had to use a number or something, but anyway...
