Do You Need Help?

Postby Darwin » Fri Jan 25, 2008 9:38 pm

I did.

Luckily I found it right here in this forum. :D

I just can't thank you guys, (& girls), enough!

For eight months I have endured an on/off love/hate relationship with my beautiful golden tormentor & the only things that have kept me going are the amazing ability of this remarkable object to persuade you to go through hours of thumb numbing frustration and this forum!

Every time the dust had settled on our last falling out I'd gingerly pick up my Isis from it's stand where it has steadfastly sat and stared at me daring me to give in. Determined this time I'll crack it and even more determined that I won't let it get to me when I don't. Following the now familiar ritual I carry my Isis, almost reverentially, to the PC, where I check this forum for inspiration. And remarkably, I always find it!!!!
Even if it is, "re-read the clues!!" more often than not!!!

But do you know what? IT WORKS!!! The advice is always spot on. Today I finally cracked my Isis and I am now the proud owner of a key!

I can't thank you enough! We have never met & this is my first post yet you have steered and supported me in my endeavours and still left me with a feeling of such excitement & achievement when I finally saw my key.

Too many people to name individually, but I must mention "smartybones" who taught me what a duck was and, essentially, unlocked my Isis.

Moral of the story: If you are still out there struggling: don't ever give up and read the forum. It's a great support group. You will get there. Eventually. It's the best feeling when you get there. And it's nice to know you still quite good at puzzles even if you are slowing up a little.

I felt compelled to big it up for you guys (& girls) and maybe add a little something to this great community. This will probably be my only post. That is, unless I feel the need to endorse a "re-read all the clues" or to explain to someone what a duck is. :)

Thank you all again. Right... where are those pyramids?

now the real torment starts, those pyramid riddles are gonna really mess you up.... the amount of time you are gonna spend googling and reading wiki articles...

I bet withing 1 month, your gonna have at least one day off work to go running around the countryside or spend it in bed because you was up untill 6am on the interwebby....

and just an additional piece of advice.... Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is often inacurate.... sometimes very inacurate..... if you belive you are on the trail because of somthing you read, verify it on at least one other website !!!

thanks for the mention... i am glad my comments helped you quack your Isis

recently ordered my isis of the internet, (it inter netting on the inside of your shorts,) and i have less than 12 hours before i start with my own adventure, i solved the clues having taken them off the forum, and ive stocked up on aspirin for my thumbs, (thats if the forums r anything to go by).

fingers, not thumbs, crossed ill have 'er cracked open as soon as possible and get entry to the most reverend 5% forums. plenty of commuting to while away my solving attempts, not to mention the dreaded pryamid puzzles and either spending my monthly visits to my girlfriend in liverpool runnig aroung searching or getting a train to dublin for yet another attempt at egyptian gold!!

hopefully ill catch up with you all very soon and be involved as much as i can.

BTW what is a duck????????????

Duck is the common name for a number of species in the Anatidae family of birds. The ducks are divided between several subfamilies. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, mostly smaller than their relatives the swans and geese, and may be found in both fresh water and sea water.

Most ducks have a wide flat beak adapted for dredging. They exploit a variety of food sources such as grasses, aquatic plants, fish, insects, small amphibians, worms, and small molluscs.

it also has a watertight a**e
