Help With The Clues

I'm in the mist of trying to decipher the 5 clues, I know where the letters go and the lengths of the words, but I don't know where to start, is there a clue you found easy to work out first or did you just work them out top to bottom? Because of exams I'm trying to work them out inbetween revision and it's getting quite frustrating. Does anyone have any advice for me in helping to solve these clue?

Pick out words that you know i.e it,i,a, and work your way around that

Good luck. Is a wonderfull puzzle and out of all the puzzles I own my personal favorite. When you get it to pieces which I am sure that yo will, you will be amazed at the work that has gone in to it
