Stuck?

Postby umm... Username? » Sun Jan 03, 2010 5:04 pm

Hello, I received my Ramisis about a week ago, and have deciphered all of the clues. (although they haven't helped me much!) I have now become seemingly stuck in a (?)Vertical passageway that runs the length of the puzzle.(?) The internal object won't budge unless I invert the Ramisis, sending it through the vertical chamber. I am becoming frustrated as no amount of twisting/flipping/throwing (not really) seems to free me of this. Not looking for spoilers here, just maybe a gentle push in the right direction. Thanks

Hi username (lol), and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you are in the familiar yoyo-stage, where many have gone crazy and some even quit..
A push in the right direction for you would obviously be be a push downwards, assuming you are still trying to release the key. But in order to go down, you may need to rotate, go back, shake, wiggle it (just a little bit) :? .
The ramisis moving parts have many possible positions, you just did not find the right one yet to proceed.

Good luck and have fun!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Thanks for the replies, I think i've made a bit of progress! Now however, when I shake the Ramisis, it seems that the key :?: is moving as well as the ball. Is there any way I can make it stay put so i can actually listen to the ball?

This was as good a challenge as the Ramisis itself :)

At first I was using one of those manual release pins you sometimes get with computer CD/DVD players - a 2 inch long rod with a hoop on the end to hold it by. But it was becoming difficult to hold in place while moving the Ramisis around.

Then I created what I shall call the RamsisBuddy - I took one of those plastic cable ties you get wrapped around power cables on things when they are new - the ones with a bit of metal in the middle to make it rigid but flexible. Then I made a similar shape to the release pin - a loop with the two ends of the cable tie twisted together and flat for a cm or two. Insert the flat bit, which being two ends, is flexible in size and shape, but being springy, fills the hole and holds the key in place, and the loop is outside for easy retrieval. Job done.

Also won't take your eye out when the chamber pops out.

The classic approach to silence the key is a wooden toothpick.
Use one that is too long to go in all the way, and cut off the sharp points.
